Zombie Loan ep. 10-11 [END] + Review ~ 80/100

[ Payment 10: The Living Corpse Spell]
[ Payment 11: Life and Death]
Better late than never. Yes?
After constant delays and various reasons for pushing back these final two episodes, I have at last watched them. They were both pretty good. Even though it led to a seemingly premature end and some parts of it were predictable, such as Yoshizimi transforming into his creation, it was all still done well despite pacing problems. I was really saddened at the death of the little golem girl. I think I would have stomped that doctor guy to near-death if I were Shito though. Although I enjoyed these last two episodes I can’t say that I feel satisfied since so many things were left unresolved. There’s still the whole core thing with the Grim Reaper, the Xu Fu, Carmella’s role in everything, and the last second revelation of Bekkou’s true form which is badass. Here’s hoping that those things are resolved in the future with the OVA.

[ Final Thoughts ]
I think it goes without saying that the end of Zombie Loan was abrupt. I had expected this to have around 24-26 episodes and was pretty surprised when I saw it end at episode 11. That said, there was obviously a lot of potential cut off as a result of the sudden ending. Many loose-ends were left over and the secondary characters were left underdeveloped. Even with the DVD-only episode coming I don’t expect much to be covered in just that one episode. Perhaps there will be a second season in the future? Hopefully so because it’d be a shame to see it all end like this for good.
I admit the start was rough. The OP song was horrible but the ED was enjoyable. I found the overall soundtrack to be quite good and pleasing to the ears. Animation was never the series strong point but it was still easy on the eyes than most.
Nonetheless, despite the abrupt end it doesn’t really take away from what Zombie Loan brought to the table. The characters were the best thing about Zombie Loan though I’m not really surprised since Peach Pit is behind it. Michiru, Shito, and Chika were all enjoyable to watch from start to finish. Thankfully, they weren’t characters full of hax especially given the premise of the series. Each of them had their own strengths and weaknesses and I liked that together they were at their most efficient.
In the end, Zombie Loan was a good show. It didn’t seem like anything special in the early episodes but I think it turned out well even if it was cut short. Hopefully more will be coming in the future, especially since I want to see more of Michiru, Yomi, Chika, and Shito. And of course the story.
[Overall series review: 80/100]

Zombie Loan ep. 8-9

[ Payment 8: Solitude Even After Death]
[ Payment 9: Living Corpse]
Nice pair of episodes. A new character, Sotetsu, appears and you would swear this guy is another Renji. That voice will never get old lol. He also seems to have Koyomi crushing on him but let’s not forget that Yomi loves Michiru. Now that’s a difficult situation right there.
So, Shito is in big trouble and we find out that he’s been alive since at least the 19th century. He’s an old man! I’m interested in finding out who that woman is in his past. She seems to have died (obviously) and that comb of his belonged to her. Hard to say who she is for now but it’s probably a former lover, sister, or mother. Guess we’ll find out in a few episodes or something. Also, that golem girl is quite interesting, especially in the preview…
Zombie Loan ep. 7

[ Payment 7: A Wandering Heart]
This episode should have been more about YomixMichiru. Honestly, that was the best part of this episode. I do wonder where Yomi touches Michiru constantly.
Anyways, the Z-Loan crew went on vacation and as a result ended up bring back a wolfboy via the help of the chairperson, Shimotsuki. I wonder how old she is? Anyways, another new character is introduced at the very end of the episode. I have no idea who he is but he looks quite gay. Well, we get another new girl next episode as well. There’s so many characters…
Zombie Loan ep. 5-6

[ Payment 5: Sacrifice]
[ Payment 6: Longing for Freedom]
I’m not surprised at Shiba being a zombie. He gave off too many hints with his detective skills (well, he was in the OP as well in his “zombie form”). He knew too much and knew it so well. Not to mention he practically gave himself away when they confronted that fake Butterfly guy. He really did do a number on Chika and Shito though. That Grim Reaper was pretty freaky as well. He came out of no where and disappeared just as quickly. He seems to be someone you don’t mess around with. It’ll be interesting to see what role he plays in future episodes.

[ Payment 2: Are You Gonna Die?]
[ Payment 3: A Dead Man`s Tongue]
[ Payment 4: Butterfly`s Flutter]
After some delay I decided to continue blogging this show. Granted so far it’s not the best thing out there I do like it. Things are getting a bit interesting with the current case and a few new characters. Out of them all Koyomi/Yomi is/are definitely my favorite(s). Koyomi is super energetic while Yomi without a doubt is quite seductive (and apparently likes women, or at least Michiru). They both share the same hot body so it’s all good ^^;. I found the reason why Chika and Shito work together to be quite interesting though it must suck really hard to constantly have to be in range of each other on top of having the limit of only possessing their original hands for only an hour. I suppose we’ll get a bit more information on what happened to them some time later. As for Shiba…he’s quite a strange character who I’m sure knows more than he’s letting on to know about zombies.
