This was an interesting way to end the first season. The first half of the episode basically showed everyone in cool-down mode. Basically relaxing around school and thinking about stuff like exams and their future career paths. We even get to see Tatsuma’s parents. Of course, as with most parent meetings, he manages to get embarrassed. Like when he gets called by the name his mother uses: Hii-chan. I have to wonder if he likes Aoi though. His mother did say that he always described Aoi as a beautiful young lady in all of the letters he sent them. Will TatsumaxAoi happen in the second season? :O

Also, we see the girl that Aoi saved earlier in the series (in episode 9). I wonder if she’ll be important in the second season? There’s also a strange new character who is in a wheelchair. No idea who he is though. So yet again the second season is going to be an interesting one.

The second half of the episode picks up on familiar ground. Everyone is called in to be shown that Tendou’s hand is still in good condition is probably contains a huge amount of Dark Law energy within it. We get an explanation on Aoi’s healing powers as well. Surprising, Tendou returns. Or so we think. Rather, it’s his body transformed into a very freaking hideous demon as a result of some strong Dark Law being used on him. However, he’s not trying to kill them. Rather, it seems like he wanted our heroes to kill him. This is further proven when we see his child self reuniting with his mother he loved so dearly. Our heroes know now that the battle is far from over and that they will probably be fighting until the day of their deaths. Until then, we’ll have to wait for the second part of the story in July.

Even our little cutie Toono informs us that the story doesn’t end here! SECOND SEASON GET on July 27th 2007!

Now this is what I call an action-packed episode! Bodies were flying everywhere. No one was spared from pain! It is this type of carnage that’s among the best that can ever be animated in my opinion. Everyone had their time to shine in this episode. Komaki, Daigo, the Oribe sisters, Kisaragi, Kyouichi, Raito, Tatsuma, and Aoi. Things were looking bad for our heroes at the beginning but they all started to recover fast near the end. Tatsuma even sacrifice his own body, and allowed the possessed Aoi to stab him just so that he could speak into her heart. His words broke through her possession and was able to free her. Of course, I’m sure his stomach wound was healed by Aoi. Otherwise he’d be in a pretty bad mess right now. xD

Now that Tendou is out for the count, I have no idea what to expect in the next episode. I’m guessing we’re finally going to get to see who this “Him” person is. He’s responsible for giving Tendou his powers in the first place so it’ll be interesting to see what his motives are.

[Night 12: The Dark Law Chapter - Kodzune's Revival]

With this episode, things are being set-up for the last two episodes. I’m sure to expect a lot of action and maybe a few mysteries thrown in for thought until the second season.

And so, everyone now knows about Aoi and that she is the Bodhisattva Eye. They also know that Kisaragi is the one charged with killing her so that the Bodhisattva Eye doesn’t destroy the world. Of course, not everyone takes this news well. Especially Komaki who takes out some of her frustrations on Kisaragi. We also find out more about the Kodzune family. We learn that they weren’t the ones who started this entire conflict in the first place but rather it was the Shogunate who wanted to take away a female member of their family who possessed the Bodhisattva Eye. The family fought back but eventually lost which led to many of the family members killing themselves. This would explain why Kodzune’s mother hanged herself in the flashbacks we’ve been seeing.

Now that the revival has begun our heroes are on their way to save Aoi and to stop Kodzune Tendou from achieving his goals. Tatsuma has expressed that he wants to save Tendou’s soul because of the sadness he felt when Tendou tried to look into his heart in the previous episode. Raito, of course, wants to kill Tendou but Tatsuma says that he won’t let him. Reiji is now awake and is also accompanying our heroes on their final battle of the season. The Oribe sisters are also with them as well as Takami. Hopefully, the showdown is as awesome as it’s being built up to be!

If there’s one thing that Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou consistently excelled at from the very first episode, it’s animation quality. Though, another thing would be the wonderfully scripted battles and the score that went along with them and everything else for that matter.

Anyways, it was pretty damn sad to find out that Sayo was dead all along (even though I knew that already) and even more hurtful to see her waste away because of Kodzune. Tatsuma seemed to really care for her so much that he was willing to throw himself into Kodzune’s trap just for her sake. In the end though, she managed to help Tatsuma when Kodzune was trying to kill him before she finally died. However, I think this only served to piss Tatsuma off more so that his true powers can emerge. Speaking of which, after he got sliced from Kodzune his freaking wound healed right up. What gives? Is that the power of the Golden Dragon?

We also find out about the connection that Tatsuma and Kodzune share. Their rivalry goes back many, many years. Apparently, Tatsuma (or at least his ancestors) is responsible for the death of Kodzune’s family. I’m not sure yet if that’s true or not but I suppose that’ll either be revealed in the next few episodes or even carry over into the second season. Aoi is now under the control of Kodzune and her body is now under the control of the Bodhisattva Eye which has an uber amount of power. So much so that neither Komaki, Kisaragi, or Daigo could do anything against it. They were luckily saved by Raito (I knew he’d come back sooner or later) and the two shrine maiden sisters.

[Night 10: The Dark Law Chapter - The Bodhisattva Eye]

So, Aoi possesses the Bodhisattva Eye eh? Well, I suppose I know what that means. Someone with such a power is always seen as a liability because they will either 1) get kidnapped by the enemy and used for their ability or 2) just simply need to be killed because the power is too dangerous.

Which one will Aoi-chan fall into? Or is there a third option?

Plenty happened in this episode. Tatsuma seems to be quite friendly with a girl that was introduced a few episodes ago but was never given a name. Well, her name is revealed to be Sayo by none other than Toono. That girl’s investigative skills are frightening. so much so that it almost seems as if she’d be an absolutely flawless stalker xD. Anyways, I don’t know what’s up with Sayo or if there’s anything special about her but there has to be a reason why Tatsuma has been going out with her for what seems to be quite a long period of time. What’s even stranger is at the end of the episode, one of Toono’s pictures shows her as “dead”. I’m not sure what’s going on with her but Tatsuma accompanies her to the destination she’s headed to and thus separates himself from everyone else.

As for the rest of the episode the person of focus is, of course, Aoi. All throughout the episode her right eye bothers her and seems to be getting redder and redder. Of course, Kisaragi is aware of her power and, as his grandfather stated in the past, he must kill the person who with the Bodhisattva Eye no matter what. Kyouichi manages to find this out after following Kisaragi and fights with him. Aoi arrives to hear it all and begins to blame herself for all that’s happened to Tokyo while running away. The poor girl, she even goes so far as to try and kill herself but is apparently saved (more like captured) by Kodzune. Damn, I really can’t wait to see how the first season wraps up.

By the way, the second OST is going to be released soon (like next month I think) but I haven’t even seen a hint of the first OST. Like, errrr?

[Night 9: The Dark Law Chapter - With Force and Tenderness]

With Aoi now identified as the Bodhisattva Eye, what will await our heroes in the future?

I’m hurting along side of my dear Komaki. She still seems to be very sick from the previous episode. The thought and sight of her old friend’s dead body is really taking a toll on her. So much so that her archery skills are almost nil and she can’t even seem to tap into her powers. For most of the episode she’s a complete emotional wreck (she even slapped away the bento that Daigo made for her during one of her breakdowns). As a result of this, even Daigo is down for the count and unable to fight properly.</p.

Thank goodness though, they both recover near the end of the episode. Komaki receives some help and cheering up from both Kyouichi and Daigo (who of course states his resolve to Komaki that he’ll be the one to protect her always). Tatsuma goes to visit Aoi to talk with her. Aoi decides to reveal a scar she received from her past which involves the flashback of the fire we’ve seen a few times already. Komaki arrives right in time at the end of the episode to help her friends with an enemy whose power has gone insane. After they defeat her, it seems as if she’s dead but somehow Aoi manages to revive her. That power caught me off guard to be honest. However, this seems to be connected to the Bodhisattva Eye. Which Kodzune wants and has identified as being Aoi. This definitely means trouble for Aoi and the others in the future.

I wonder who that girl was in the beginning of the episode that met with Tatsuma though….
