[ Episode 12: Heart-Throbbing Night ]

Belldandy is in this episode? What the hell?

Yikes. It’s been ages since I’ve watched an episode of this show. A lot of it was due in part to slow subs and a busy schedule but at least I haven’t forgotten about it.

As for the episode….what the hell? A goddess is now in Tokimeki? Not a figurative one either but a real goddess? Wow, that was quite unexpected. Also, for some reason she gave off some strong Bellldandy-like vibes but is also clumsy. I really laughed hard during this episode though. The garbage collecting system was pure madness, especially when it went up against Riku’s three idiot friends. I loved the RPG-ish fight they had even though it was pretty pointless lol. I also loved the fact that coming in contact with it left the person with an afro. That was too damn funny. Of course, the goddess came to save the day when Riku, Tsukasa, and Mina were in trouble and even when she tried to leave and say goodbye she hit her head and boxes piled up on her. Again lol.

Also, if this episode is any indication I expect some sort of conflict between Tsukasa and Mina in a later episode. But given the randomness of this show some times who knows what’ll happen anymore….

Thoughts:

A pretty nice episode that focused on Mina. She really worked hard to attain her win but there are just some people who are either jealous at times or just plain idiots like those Mina-tan morons. I also have issues with Aoba letting others dictate to him when and who he can see but I guess when up against a crowd of idiots that big it’s best to walk away or at least walk inside. Anyways, I found it funny that neither Aoba or Mina didn’t know each other’s phone numbers. I would’ve thought they’d already exchanged numbers since he was helping her train for so long but I guess not.

Sometimes I also wonder about the situations Aoba ends up in and how he’s easily blamed for things he didn’t do. Such a thing happens in this episode yet again when he supposedly ’skips work’ when he actually was kidnapped by the science teacher. Although I have to say Sayuri was a bit too fast to scold, Aoba should have explained clearer what happened or told them all (including Sayuri) to shut up and listen. But, he’s not that kind of guy at the moment.

Well anyways, at least the episode ended on a sweet note with Aoba and Mina finally exchanging numbers. But even with that done I’m still wondering just how serious Aoba is taking his relationship with Tsukasa….

Next Episode: Tokimeki #12
>I’m going to guess that next episode is a scary one.

An episode about part-time jobs? It was an hilarious time that I will admit but it lacked the necessary amount of Tsukasa! Though I will give them credit for the Hiyoko appearance. I found the latter part interesting to an extent. Aoba taking care of Sayuri’s shy dog, Eru, has probably helped improved her opinion of him a bit more than in the past few episodes. Also, there was quite a lot of the lunch onee-san in this episode. She’s as evil as ever and so funny as well. She contributes a lot to the enjoyment of this episode. I especially loved the end when she dished out divine punishment to Aoba for skipping his last hours of his part-time job. Overall, it’s not one of my favorite episodes but it’s not a bad one either as it is quite funny.

Next Episode: Tokimeki #11

Ah, so wonderful. A beach date between Tsukasa and Aoba. Everything starts off well and almost-romantic. Tsukasa’s in her hot pink, very cute swimsuit and Aoba is actually managing to be like a normal boyfriend. The day couldn’t possibly go bad, right? Wrong! Everyone decided to go to the beach. In my opinion, the most notable were the principal (my god she has huge breasts) and the senseis drinking non-stop. Of course, the two lovebirds try to get away to be alone but they can’t seem to shake off everyone. They eventually run into Sayuri where Aoba starts to do dumb things again. Tsukasa manages to get him back to her but Aoba’s idiot friends come along and cause him to almost drown. Through some odd turn of events the poor fool is saved but he has to go looking for Tsukasa. In the end, I almost thought Tsukasa and Aoba were going to kiss but I should have known better. Tokimeki isn’t that nice to Aoba at all. Oh well, there’s always next time. xD

Wonderful episode. I feared for the worst at the end but I’m glad I was wrong. However, I still think that Aoba needs to watch himself. Honestly, he shouldn’t be putting himself in compromising situations with other girls when he has a girlfriend already. Case in point, when he was with Yayoi and going to help her practice. I couldn’t begin to imagine what Tsukasa was feeling when she said that. Shouldn’t he be watching her practice some times? Sure, he and Yayoi are friends and he agreed to help her out but he owes it to Tsukasa to be there for her some times. Then there was the temple incident. I was scared. I thought that there would be a confrontation because of what happened up there. After all he’s now started to call Yayoi by her first name, Mina. Tsukasa is his girlfriend and he hasn’t even called her by her first name yet. Bad moves Aoba. Also, I should mention some tension seems to be appearing between Sayuri and Aoba. Not sure how serious it is as yet but it does seem a slight bit unnerving. However, the ending scenes were heartwarming. Aoba reacted in the way a guy should for his girl when he hears bad news but thank goodness it wasn’t anything serious. It was very cute how he helped her practice in the end. I feel that doing that made Tsukasa quite the happy girl. Another large smile appeared on my face when she asked him to go to the beach with her.Tsukasa’s just too cute and she deserves to be treated right. Hopefully Aoba learns from his realized mistakes and makes the right adjustments.

Impressions:

Quite the emotional episode. Summer vacation is starting and everyone has plans. Well, except for Aoba who gets pulled into volunteering for the executive committee. He isn’t too bothered though since Sayuri is with him. However, he has other troubles with the drama club which forces him to audition. The bad thing about this is that the audition is on the same day he promised to have a date with Tsukasa. Very, very bad move Aoba. I found it sweet at how excited Tsukasa was to be going on a date with Aoba, picking out the clothes she’ll wear and such. But she has that promise broken which is both not and is Aoba’s fault. If he stood up for himself and declined the audition he wouldn’t have had to make Tsukasa cry. Though I suppose its difficult not to when you’re being attacked by over a dozen feathers while tied down. Interestingly enough, during the auditions when he gets serious he says “I love you”…to Sayuri who just happened to walk in at the same time. Wow. Sayuri is stunned but I’m not sure at what. Was it because he said he loved her or that he said he didn’t mean it and was acting? Whichever it was, we don’t get to find out because she runs off. Tsukasa sees her and starts to go to the drama club but changes her mind and walks outside. This scene was something I saw coming sooner or later. Tsukasa seems to be feeling jealousy. Hey, I think it’s healthy. After all, Aoba has been hanging out with Sayuri and Yayoi a bit too much lately. Can’t wait for the next episode to see what happens between Aoba, Tsukasa, and Sayuri!
