[ Episode 12: YOU ZAPPED TO… ]

WTF Kaaya. No wonder Fatina didn’t like you!

Ehhh, what the hell? ANOTHER tower? I literally went “WTF?” when I heard that the top of the tower everyone was climbing was just a halfway point. Not only that, but the Druaga they fought was just a guardian. What does that mean then? Is there another Druaga at the very top of the next tower or is there someone more sinister? Well, it goes without saying that Jil will find out despite getting screwed over by Kaaya and Neeba. It’s gotta suck to be betrayed right at the supposed end of your journey and then get tossed away like nothing. Hopefully there will be hell to pay in the second season. That said, it doesn’t seem like anyone died but was just washed away so I’m sure will be seeing them again soon. Still, it sucks that Jil didn’t get a chance revive Ahmey. That would’ve been pretty awesome. Speaking of wishes though, I was pretty stunned to hear that Gilgamesh has the blue crystal rod and puzzled as to why he killed that guy. Is he an antagonist now? What about those two characters that were revealed in the shadows? They don’t seem to be friendly folk at all. The Succubus was also revealed to once be the lover of Druaga. I’m guessing that means he possessed some sort of human form before. Ahhh, so many unanswered questions!

Overall though, Druaga’s first season was pretty sweet. It wasn’t groundbreaking but I found the characters and plot so far to be enjoyable. That said, I’m not going to give my final thoughts since the story is far from over. I can only hope though that the same amount of effort invested into the first season will carry over to the second. The promotional material I saw prior to the start of the second showed some interesting stuff involving Jil and Fatina. Almost as if the two will get together in the second season. If that’s the case it will be interesting to see how their relationship develops, especially given that both were betrayed by people they once cared about.

Good lord. Druaga is a beast. On top of being insanely powerful the damn thing has a barrier! It can’t get any crazier than that if you ask me. What really hit me though was Ahmey’s death. It was handled very well as the scene with Jil and everyone over her was heartbreaking. Now I can only wonder if anyone else is going to die. Jil says he’s not going to allow it but honestly, he can’t protect everyone all at the same time…right? Kaaya still seems to be acting a little off as well. The Succubus is also enjoying everything that’s going on. I hope some more light is shed on her character before the finale. Ki’s intentions are also still a mystery even though she is constantly helping Jil out.

At the rate things are going, there is obviously going to be a second season. Though the question is exactly how will it be done? Are we going to get a cliffhanger? Is Jil or Neeba going to defeat Druaga? What are Neeba’s, Kaaya’s, and the Succubus’ goals? I can’t wait to find out.

Great episode. It was especially good with build-up. Still, it’s so close to the end and I’m not sure what to expect. Ki and Succubus are shown sitting together in some strange room. Are they working together or is there something else going on? So far, Ki has been helping Jil along his journey ever since she was awakened. Succubus as been appearing mainly to Neeba and constantly taunting him. I can’t help but think that they play a bigger role than can be perceived at the moment. About the whole wish thing, only one person being able to make it is pretty harsh. Does that mean comrades would have to turn on each other at the very end assuming they can defeat Druaga? Does that perhaps have something to do with the betrayals Ki spoke of earlier? It’s definitely not out of the question after this episode.

Kaaya was also acting strangely near the end of the episode. What’s up with her all of a sudden? Additionally, did Neeba really have to be such douche after Jil saved him? I’m also still wondering what his true goals are for climbing the tower. From the looks of things and going by the commentary Succubus usually makes around him, it doesn’t seem to be anything good.

Lastly, Summer ending is obviously not good. There are only a few people left now and there’s no turning back. How many are going to survive the upcoming battle with Druaga, I wonder? What is after the defeat of Druaga? Guess I’ll get to see in these last two episodes.

I really like the way Druaga is progressing. The storytelling is quite well done and this episode is no exception. Things got a little more special thanks to everyone getting separated and pairing up with not-usual people. My personal favorite was Jil/Fatina. Those two have an interesting chemistry even if Fatina has a one-track mind for Neeba. Also thanks to the odd pairings, Ahmey’s past was revealed. Her reasoning for climbing the tower isn’t exactly new but at least she seems to understand that you can’t bring the dead back to life…normally anyways.

Kaaya was confronted by the Succubus as well where the topic of betrayal came up once again. I’m not sure what other intentions Kaaya has for climbing the tower but I just can’t see her betraying anyone at this point. Also, I can’t help but think that Kalley’s death was rather sudden. Pazuz surely didn’t want anyone seeing what was inside that coffin, but couldn’t some other random character have looked inside? Oh well, I guess we’ll find out soon enough exactly what is inside those things.

What an odd episode. The majority of it involved Kaaya and others controlling Jil in an arcade-like RPG. I wasn’t sure where it was going until near the very end when Ki appeared. There are some things I still can’t figure out yet. Why does Ki and Kaaya look alike? Are they the same person? With the way Kaaya was behaving, I think that might be the case somewhat. Also, what did she mean by three betrayals? Who is going to betray Jil? The only people I can think of are those in his party and Neeba’s party. Eh, it’s hard to tell at this point. The flashback Gilgamesh had was even more confusing and I hope it is explained soon. The appearance of the Succubus and her comment on Ki finally awakening is pretty intriguing. She may know Ki personally so does that mean she might appear before Jil and company soon? Well, whatever the case, Fatina is going to be with Jill and company in the next episode! I like her character design quite a lot and it’ll be interesting to see how she interacts with everyone.

Now that was an awesome episode that more than made up for the previous one. It’s personally one of my favorites. I especially loved how Jil and company gathered everyone to help battle the dragon without money. Though I’m sure most were disappointed that the dragon had died, I’m sure that those girls who cared about their skin are more than happy (maybe lol). Seeing Jil take on the dragon with Kelb was pretty cool as well and he’s even gained some recognition now! It’s interesting though that Neeba knew about the weakness yet it doesn’t seem like anyone ever tried to aim for the flame sacks. The blue-haired woman also appeared again to taunt Neeba about how his previous party members were wiped out. She obviously has some attachment to Neeba but what are her intentions exactly? Hopefully we’ll find out soon.
