Shigofumi ep. 6

[ Episode 6: Scream ]

I actually never understood the concept of bullying. The bully always came across to me as a person with no life who is unable to vent their incompetencies like a decent person. The bullied I always found to be weak-willed. So in reality I think both parties are to blame for the situation though I hold the bully more accountable for being enough of a jackass to torture someone just because they feel like it. It’s because of my thinking that throughout this episode I was annoyed at pretty much all of involved characters. I’m aware that this kind of stuff happens frequently in Japan which is likely why this episode had some issues airing but honestly this kind of thing can be solved if someone actually spoke out about it. Screw that “ratting is horrible” nonsense, only fools would adhere to something as stupid as that. Sure, what happened at the end of the episode wasn’t exactly the most appropriate solution to such problems but I honestly, is it hard to see and understand why someone would resort to killing the person who is making their life a living hell? I don’t think so.

Shigofumi ep. 5

[ Episode 5: I'm Home ]

This was a nice change to the previous episodes that dealt with serious cases. Just like I thought in the previous episode, Fumika and Chiaki get to work together! Though the delivery is really odd since the recipient is a cat and, well, cats can’t exactly talk or read so that makes things extremely difficult. They had to chase the cat all over the city while encountering some scouts (guys who scout girls to be hostesses or otherwise though my definition might not be exactly accurate), Fumika kicking their asses, and Fumika revealing her extremely cute side and the fact that she’s scared of cats. Her facial expressions were to die for! ^__^

Shigofumi ep. 4

[ Episode 4: Tears ]

Yet another great episode of Shigofumi. Man, I just can’t stop loving this show. Fumika, despite not being exactly talkative, is one of the best female characters of the season. I’m quite interested her in past but I’ll come back to that. The central characters of this episode were Ran and Nanae. Well, Ran than Nanae since she was the recipient of the shigofumi. Their relationship was touched upon so I guess you can scream “YURI!” if you want to. :P Ran refused to receive her shigofumi a few times and I jokingly thought about Fumika threatening her with her gun to take the letter or die. In the end she managed to deliver it though and even though Ran encountered some troubles she was able to read it and changed her feelings toward her mother who she supposedly detested.

Shigofumi ep. 3

[ Episode 3: Friends ]

This episode deals with the delicate issue of suicide. I didn’t particularly look for the alteration that was made to this episode but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Maybe it’s just me but I found Sen’s shigofumi to be hilarious for some reason. I mean really, he wanted to experience what would happen if he jumped? What did he THINK would happen? That he’d just be able to brush himself off and walk away? Nah. Of course not. You’d be dead in every meaning of the word. His friends, particularly Kotake seemed to want to do something similar in the beginning of the episode but after what happened to Sen I doubt that he’ll be trying something like that again.
