[ Episode 8: Hot Springs Magic ]

Hot springs! Hot springs!

Yes, if it wasn’t obvious this is more or less a hot springs episode. I say more or less because there really wasn’t that much fanservice in it at all. Unless, of course, you consider bare backs hot… Everyone, including Addy, worked together yet again in trying to fix the mountain leyline and lifting up a massive rock. It was nice to see Kuroha also helping out as well. What exactly are her powers though? Ghost magic? xD Anyways, this episode was pretty much 100% comedy though. I especially loved the bits where Addy and Honami were imagining themselves being with Itsuki as their reward for being the first one to find a potent enough hot spring to help with the healing of his eye.

[ Episode 7: The Girl with Red Hair ]

Well, well now. I must say that the English version of the OP was quite a surprise. It sounded really, really good. I already grabbed the single but I have yet to check if both the Japanese and English versions are in there. As for the episode, things are getting intense now it seems. With the introduction of two new characters, the first being Lapis – a red-haired little girl who is a homunculus – and the second being a guy who was one of the founding members of Astral – Eudaiches Tholoide. He’s obviously after Itsuki but for what exact reason isn’t clear as yet. I’m quite interested to see where this plotline will take us and what effect it’ll have on our favorite magic company. Though I must say that I like Lapis. She’s so cute. Just like Mikan-chan. ^__^

[ Episode 6: Glam Sight ]

Damn. This episode was even better than the previous one (it’s a continuation to the Addy arc)! Itsuki was so badass at the end when he used his Glam Sight. I’m glad to finally know what Glam Sight does though. I had expected that he could see his enemies movements but I didn’t think of him being able to see their flow and other related elements (of emotions). From the discussion Honami and Neko had at the end though, it seems as if using that eye too frequently can cause the user to lose their sanity. Well, such a downside was to be expected with such a powerful eye. I wonder if he gets a power-up from the eye as well? Since, he ran VERY fast on a broken leg and managed to punch through magic (not to mention music and direction can do a lot for what is seemingly a simple punch ). Either way it’s really nice to see that Itsuki really is a reliable guy in-battle. ^^;

[ Episode 5: Magi Night ]

This was a pretty damn good episode. I wasn’t expecting to see anything on the level that was shown (magic-wise of course). I’m glad that Adelicia is apart of the plot as well now that we know her father is a mage that broke a taboo – becoming magic itself. I’m guess we might see a flashback or two of how he did such a thing to himself and the impact it had on Adelicia, even though she doesn’t seem to be bothered by it that much right now. Still, I want to see some more from her magic-wise since she has shown that has the ability to summon some strong familiars. As for Itsuki, I wonder what’s up with his eye telling him to “look”? He even asked about it himself in the bit after the ED theme. I suppose we’ll find out soon enough.

[ Episode 4: You're Not Alone ]

Getting to see how Kuroha joined Astral was definitely a treat. I didn’t expect her to be a ghost though but it is a welcome deviation from the rest of the members who are mages. Now I think I understand why she couldn’t enter the shrine in the previous episode (because she is a ghost). I suppose Nekoyashiki is the only person left now to receive an introductory episode unless Adelicia also gets one (which will probably show how she and Honami became rivals/don’t like each other).

Also, Iba is still badass when he takes off that eyepatch. Without it…not so much but he isn’t that bad of a guy when he’s “normal” either.

[ Episode 3: Purification of the Gods ]

Mikan-chan wears tights!

I’m really enjoying this series. The case structure is sort of reminiscent of Ghost Hunt in a way even if they last for one episode. It does make me wonder if there will be a case that takes more than one episode to solve.

Anyways, Mikan-chan was the star of this episode and she was quite awesome. For a girl her size she possesses quite a lot of power and knowledge. I mean seriously, she was able to quell the anger of that constipated god! I liked how Itsuki and Honami gave her a little assistance though as it proves that the company as a whole supports one another in each job that they are contracted to do. As for Mikan though, I noticed her reaction to the brother and sister being reunited was slightly odd since she smiled for a bit and then stopped. It makes me wonder if she has an older brother and if something happened to him. I gotta say though, she’s got Itsuki wrapped around her little finger.

Kagezaki is the newest character into the cast who works for the Association which is a group that observes the different magic groups like Astral and Goetei. I’m not sure what his role will be but it didn’t seem to be too helpful to the brother and sister duo in the past nor in the ceremony that Mikan performed. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see what purpose he serves and how he affects our main cast.
