Dead Girls PV ~ Mecha in my Red Garden!

I honestly don’t know what to say. Watching this trailer just blew me away because of it’s ridiculous good-looking action scenes and some rather provocative shots and mostly because I’m quite surprised at the amount of changes. From what I can tell this must be some kind of alternate story with the same characters as before. Here’s a synopsis from ANN:

It’s the future of New York. Kate, Rose, Rachel, and Claire lead the normal school life and a new transfer student comes… The transfer student, Louis wants to be friends with Kate. However, something happens to “Red Garden”. What is the truth behind this and the real purpose.

There’s also mecha in the OVA. o_o Interesting. Well, either way I’m quite looking forward to this OVA.

Red Garden ep. 22 [END]

[Episode 22: Light]

[Enjoyment Value: 9/10]
[Overall series review: 85/100]

[Thoughts]

The best episode in the entire series. That’s the title this episode deserves. The war between the Animus and the Doral came to an end and it was a very satisfying one. Everyone gave a wonderful performance in this final episode but the ones that stood out were Kate (she has always been my absolute favorite), Lula, and Hervé. Kate thoroughly expressed her feelings while fighting against Hervé and didn’t once bat an eye in doubt (I loved her serious expressions a lot). Lula sacrificed herself to mortally wound Hervé and as such made a great contribution to the end of the war. As for Hervé, he had lost it ever since the episode began which I think is in part of him being so concerned about his sister.

Red Garden ep. 20 & 21

[Episode 20 & 21 ]

[Enjoyment Value: 8.5/10 & 8/10]

[Thoughts]

Wow, everything really is coming to an end now. Herve has killed his stupid grandfather and now Lise has had her complications arise and is now on the loose and headed for the school where the final battle will take place. These episodes, specifically episode 21, focused on the girls all preparing for the last time they’ll be able to cherish their memories. Kate spent most of her time with Paula, Claire with Ewan, Rose with her family, and Rachel with her friends (in her own special way of course). I thought it was a great idea that Paula made up some cards for the girls in preparation of when they lose their memories as well. Now everyone is fully prepared for the final battle. The question is: Who will be victorious?

Red Garden ep. 18 & 19

[Episode 18 & 19]

[Enjoyment Value: 8/10 & 8.5/10]

[Thoughts]

Quite the interesting pair of episodes. In episode 18, Lise is finally released from her prison and the girls are slowly starting to understand their sad fate. For right now though, I really feel bad for Lise. I still don’t think she knows what’s going on and she’s still lacking her memories. As for episode 19, it was pretty much a “WTF” episode and a very good one at that. Lise now has the complication of Herve’s clan and Kate gets kidnapped. I was very pissed at the end. Since they failed with Lise they want to try again with another body. When will these bastards learn?

Red Garden Ep. 17

[Episode 17: Truth]

[Enjoyment Value: 7.5/10]

[Thoughts]

So Herve got detained by his own people? LOL, that’s a little funny to be honest. But seriously, the guy seems as if he’ll snap at any given moment especially since Anna is now starting to show signs of weakness. It’s also painful to see the girls having to now deal with the new information about their futures. Either having to die or lose their memories. Even though Rose will eventually have to find out about it, I understand too well why Kate and Claire couldn’t have told her about what would happen to them especially after she had spoke so happily about finally finding her father and wanting her family back together. I also feel that some of Rose’s words about her father may have rubbed off on Claire in regards to her own father. I’m not sure just how she’ll interact with him in the future though. Oh, and it seems Lise has disappeared. I’m sure Herve and Emilio are responsible though.

Red Garden Ep. 16

[Episode 16: Sorrowful Lies]

[Enjoyment Value: 9/10]

[Thoughts]

This was an amazingly intense episode. Definitely the best episode since the start of the show. Sadly though, JC would meet his end in this episode. Also, the fighting scenes were amazing. Among the best of all that haven taken place in the series. It was hilarious when Herve was getting beaten by the old woman (chairman). She has some seriously slick moves! Also, some serious issues have come up though now that Herve has revealed himself to the girls. If his clan gets their hands on the other book the other (Lula and JC’s) clan has they will lose their memories. However, if they get the other cursed book back which Herve’s clan possesses then they risk the chance of dying. This is a messed up situation no matter which outcome you look at. On another note though now that JC is dead, Lula will definitely be seeking revenge.

Red Garden Ep. 15

[Episode 15: Sorrow and Anger...]

[Enjoyment Value: 8/10]

[Thoughts]

I felt so sorry for Mireille throughout this episode. I couldn’t even bare to watch as she was beaten to death after turning into a monster. As a result of that, I think Herve has probably lost quite a few sanity points. I was glad that he didn’t hurt Lise because the poor girl already has a horrible memory and in her current state hasn’t done anything wrong to him. However, he’s shown himself to be a bastard in this episode after threatening Kate. Not only that but who exactly is this guy going up against? Both sides? I can’t even begin to think of what his actions will cause in future episodes.

Red Garden Ep. 14

[Episode 14: A Reason to Fight]

[Enjoyment Value: 8.5/10]

[Thoughts]

Oh? What’s this? Rose actually did something useful for once? That’s a shocker if I ever saw one! Joking aside, I’m glad to see that she’s finally emerged out of her crying and cowering state and has matured because if she didn’t the group would’ve continued to have a serious liability on their hands in future episodes. I’ve been wondering about Paula for quite some time and now I see that she’s aware of what Kate has become. Now I understand why she’s so concerned about Kate all the time (don’t cry yuri fans). Lastly, Herve…this guy is too good. Getting out of his lie by using Mireille’s story to gain Kate’s sympathy. How far is he going to go?

Red Garden Ep. 13

[Episode 13: Day Off]

[Enjoyment Value: 8.5/10]

[Thoughts]

Ok, seriously. Herve really needs to chill out. I understand his love towards his sister and cousin but the guy is really becoming too much of a dangerous and self-destructive person. What’s with his needless hate for Lise and his childish attempts to recover her memory? If he wants to “help” her so bad then he should at least attempt to do it in a more gentle way and stop being a jackass. I’ve already expressed that I don’t like how he’s using Kate’s feelings for his own personal benefit so I don’t really enjoy the scenes between the two of them. I understand that the guy is in pain but the way he’s going about things is only going to hurt him badly in the end. Well, except for just being able to see Kate anyways. As for Rose, this girl really needs to toughen up soon or else I see her further jeopardizing not only her life but the lives of Kate, Claire, and Rachel. I hope she redeems herself sometime soon.

Red Garden Ep. 12

[Episode 12: His Intentions]

[Enjoyment Value: 8/10]

[Thoughts]

I’m worried about Kate after this episode. Herve obviously doesn’t have good intentions but I can’t necessarily outright hate the guy just yet. Though I can say that I dislike him for even trying to manipulate Kate’s feelings so as to be able to investigate her and the other girls more closely. Also when will this guy stop treating Lise so badly? It really pisses me off. Anyway, I really hope everything turns out alright for Kate since it’s becoming more dangerous now. Claire seems to be getting better now that she made up with her guy friend but Rachel’s relationship seems to be going in the opposite direction. I have to question if she’ll have another mental breakdown like before but she seems to be somewhat stronger than she was then. The second ED was quite different from the first one but I still found it to be quite good.
