Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru to get a Second Season!

Hell yes. I just knew a second season had to be coming. This news comes via MOONPHASE who reports that Getchu.com is indicating that a second season of Otoboku is already in the works. I enjoyed the first series very much and I’m looking forward to this second season (whenever it comes out). Well, I know I can’t wait for more Mizuho and Takako deliciousness (yes I mean both of them…including Shion too!).

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru Ep. 12 [END]

Verdict: 9/10
Overall series review: 8.7/10

Final Impressions:

After constant delays and countless problems with my old computer I’ve finally been able to watch the last episode of Otoboku. Let me just say that I usually dislike open-ended endings when they aren’t executed properly (e.g. Kasimasi) but for some reason I enjoyed this one a lot. Despite being a Takako fan I enjoyed it for what it was without bias, and that is that it was a beautiful bringing together of two people who were at odds with one another at the beginning of the series and gradually grew closer towards the end. Mariya is still there as well after realizing her love for Mizuho (childhood friends somehow always just “realize” when someone else is about to take their friend away). And granted, there’s still no definite final pairing in the end (damn you Mizuho!) but that doesn’t ruin the overall enjoyment of this series one bit. It was a good journey and I’m kind of sad that it’s over but at least there’s an OVA coming out in a few months!

Feelings of Confusion. Is this REALLY Yaoi or REALLY Yuri?

Original found over at AoMM.

Okay, um…normally whenever I see yaoi or whatever I feel repulsed or immediately call upon divine fire to send it straight to hell. But. I don’t really have any idea what to say about this picture here (well there is a buzzing voice in the back of my mind saying “HAWT”). I know that technically Jun and Mizuho are both guys but somehow I don’t feel the automatic repulse reflex. Should I care that they are supposedly guys? Are they really guys? Should I FAP now and worry later?

*sigh*

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru Ep. 11

Impressions:

This is the episode everyone has been waiting for. Mizuho, after 11 episodes, has been found out to be a guy by Takako. There’s a of character development for Mizuho, Mariya, and Takako throughout this episode. Though most of it is from Mariya. The flashback at the beginning helped us realize just how much Mariya cares for Mizuho and how she feels about the current situation with Takako and Mizuho.

The insert song that played during Mizuho’s and Mariya’s date was just beautiful. It played all the right notes and just the right scenes. The best part of the episode, of course, is when Mizuho saves Takako from a pair of lowlifes. It was excellently done but this scene also served for revealing that Mizuho is actually a guy (to Takako at least)! NOOOOOOOOO! Anyways, I hope Takako doesn’t take the revelation too hard in the final episode…

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru Ep. 10

Okay. I said episode 9 was my favorite episode so far but now this one has overtaken it and pushed it to second. I felt that it was doen brilliantly. In particular I’m focusing on the play. The music was well done and the characters were at their most believable (in both the play and regular story). I loved how Mizuho saved Takako from humiliation when her entire dress tore off her body. The kiss…that kiss seemed ‘almost’ passionate in my eyes. It was beautifully presented as well and only further strengthens the MizuhoxTakako pairing.

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru Ep. 9

Now this is what I call a great episode (and my favorite). It was much better than the last (and ended the character-centric episodes) and highlighted my favorite characters: Takako, Mizuho, and Mariya. When the drama was mentioned and the title “Romeo & Juliet” was said I instantly knew the leads were going to be Takako and Mizuho. :D It was priceless seeing Takako get so flustered when she found out about the kissing scenes. She’s so cute when she blushes. :P Also, as the title of the episode suggested, Mariya’s feelings are starting affect the way she acts towards Mizuho. I’m pretty sure she likes Mizuho but is struggling with them for some reason. She pretty much reacts that way the entire episode.

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru Ep. 8

Impressions/Thoughts:

Yet another character-centric episode and this time it’s Yukari. This episode is basically about her (deceased) older sister and dealing with feelings of worthlessness. Those feelings stem from her trying to “catch up” with her older sister in track (who I assume was outstanding). Of course, Mizuho and everyone else (especially Ichiko) help her overcome her feelings of worthlessness in the end. Overall, it wasn’t one of my favorite episodes but it was good enough for the purpose of following Yukari’s story. One thing that did stick with me through the episode is the interaction between Mizuho and Takako. They seem to be getting more friendly with each passing episode. Makes me wonder how things will go between them in the end, especially with Mariya’s feelings being the subject of the next episode…

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru Ep. 7

Impressions:

First thing’s first, the uniform change! The new uniforms look great, especially on girls like Takako. :D I like how they even altered the OP and ED animations to include the uniform change as well. This episode was mainly a character-focus on Kana who runs into trouble with the Student Council because of her ribbon. I must say, despite Takako’s unfair judgment I still love her but she didn’t really have to go so far as basically calling Kana out and telling her that the ribbon has to go. Anyways, I was glad to see Mizuho decide quickly to protect and support Kana. From there with the help of Shion and Mariya, Mizuho issues a formal concern with regards to the Student Council’s management.

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru Ep. 6

Impressions:

Okay, so…Mizuho has breasts. My brain cannot compute why that is even possible. Dare I say, Mizuho looked hot trying on those swimsuits at the beginning of the episode? Man, these traps are starting to get out of hand. Anyways, the majority of this episode has Mizuho trying to avoid having to wear the school swimsuit by using the excuse of having her “period” on the scheduled days which eventually leads to Takako approaching her about the issue. The episode then shifts to a competition arising between Takako and Mariya which seemed to be triggered by Mizuho’s skipping of swimming classes but actually as deeper roots for occurring. I must say I liked the little interaction between Mizuho and Takako. The image of Takako resting in Mizuho’s lap after she collapsed was cute. MizuhoxTakako anyone?! The end of the episode had Takako and Mizuho competing in an enhanced competition or in other words, something fun that they would both enjoy. Also, is it just me or has it been set up for a while that Mizuho and Takako would begin to get closer? They are both Elder and Student Council President after all…so all that’s left is for the love to sprout! :P

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru Ep. 5

Impressions:

Pretty good episode. I’m glad Mizuho got to find out more about his…err…her…his mother. Also, Sachiho is a beautiful name. I have to say that I almost fell for the whole “Ichiko ascending to heaven” bit. Something in the back of my mind told me she’d be back before the episode ended and what do you know, she’s right back at the dorms! Well she does bring a lighter mood to the dorms and story I must say so I’m glad she’s staying. I want to see more of Takako though. :D
