[ Episode 10: Jager × Juggernaut ]

Oh man. I was worried that Mariam and Isa had died fighting Russia. That shot could have killed Mariam and Isa if it had been off just a little. The victory was already decided but Russia’s Gigantic still decided to fire upon Egypt despite their inability to move. Well, at least they were saved but I have to wonder just how safe Mariam and Isa are and if we’ll be seeing them again in the future. The Sympathy is quite dangerous as well. Those injuries Shingo received seemed to be from the explosion that occurred after Russia shot Egypt but it’s good to see he’s okay. From the looks of the preview it seems like Shingo and Mana will have their rematch with Russia in the next episode. I hope they kick ass this time around but that’s probably not likely.

[ Episode 9: Innocent × Immortal ]

Wow. That episode was great. We got focus on the French Pilot and Translator, who are brother and sister. Their story was quite emotional but, like most stories so far, they turned out just fine in the end. I had initially thought something similar to what happened between Egypt vs. Greece was going to happen but this fight turned out completely different. Both sides managed to survive the battle and even helped each other when both Gigantics became inoperable. Seeing such honor on the battlefield is rare and it made me smile even though their double defeat seemed to be the dirty work of some third-party whether it be Italy, Germany, or the U.N. itself. I’m quite interested in the new turn of events though.

[ Episode 8: Hesitant × Honor ]

This episode focuses on England’s Translator and Pilot. They were an interesting pair if you ask me. I felt bad for Daniel though as he was framed for injuring and the subsequent death of his wife and lost everything as a result. I’m glad that Cynthia accepted him by the end of the episode though since she would have been pretty annoying if she continued to act the way she did after Daniel saved her. The ending was pretty damn cliffhanger-tastic as well, ending with their Gigantic getting blasted by the enemy Gigantic. I’m guessing we’ll be focusing on their enemies in the next episode, whoever they are. As for the rest of the episode we get to see Mana thinking about both Shingo and that guy from her past. She obviously seems to be developing feelings for Shingo but is a little hesitant for now…

[ Episode 7: Glittering × Goddess ]

This time around, both Mana and Shingo use Resonant Sympathy and end up observing Egypt’s pilots, Mariam and Isa. The two start off rocky but by the end are closer than before after the guy, Isa, realizes that he was the one holding them back. They are victorious in the fight against Greece as well…which means that Muhammed and Hassan are dead. And here I thought they’d have some importance later on in the story. =/ Oh well, that’s war for you. Maybe Mariam and Isa will now be possible allies for Mana and Shingo. That is, if they are defeated as well later on. Mana’s past is also intriguing me as the guy in her flashbacks looks A LOT like Shingo. Though that presence of that guy, Masahito, in her memories might give Shingo a tough time, especially if he eventually tells her his feelings.

[ Episode 6: Future × Fates ]

Quite the interesting episode. It focused mainly on the experimentation of Resonant Sympathy which seems to have the ability of linking the user to another Gigantic and their pilot and translator. As such, Mana spent most of the episode observing Muhammed and Hassan of Greece along with their memories. Looking at them both though, I’d like to know how exactly they were chosen to be pilot and translator. Anyway, I’m not sure where they were going with this episode but one would think that it foreshadows Greece either battling it out with them seriously in the future or becoming their allies like Yun and Zou did. It’s good to see that Shingo is beginning to show his feelings toward Mana a bit more as well.

[ Episode 5: Entrusting × Experts ]

It’s very nice to see that Mana has overcome her fear that Russia’s Gigantic caused. I almost thought it would have been stretched over the entire season but she seems to have come to terms with it even if just a little. We even got some tidbits on Mana’s past. She was a Ninja, a counter-terrorist unit that works closely with the government. Seeing a glimpse of the training really shows just how capable she is. I’m wondering though if Susanoo appearing in the form of Shingo has any importance beyond the concept of appearing in the form of the person you’re most comfortable with seeing…

[ Episode 4: Deep × Daze ]

Russia’s Gigantic had a really nasty attack in my opinion. Things that damage the mind are almost always greater than anything physically damaging. I think what happened to Mana clearly shows this. I suppose they didn’t show the pilots of the Russian Gigantic as yet for plot reasons. Meaning when they are shown some (or all) of their background will be revealed as well. I was also impressed with how well Shingo did in the battle. Not only was he able to withstand the maximum conformity level but he was able to make the enemy run away. This makes me wonder what Russia and Japan will do in the future even though they are now in a ceasefire.

So far, I’m enjoying seeing how well the plot is being pieced together little by little (like with a peek into Commander Kasumi’s past) and await to see how well it does in the much later episodes.
