[ Episode 9: Hozumi ]

This was an okay episode. Well, a good one really. The animation seemed to be better than in most episodes as well. Most of the characters are likable now, including Yui.
This was an okay episode. Well, a good one really. The animation seemed to be better than in most episodes as well. Most of the characters are likable now, including Yui. I’m glad for Takuma and Hayami now that they’re together but I’m sure that it won’t be smooth sailing from now until the end. I’m guessing that Hotaru was feeling down after this episode and I expected to see her crying under that mask for some reason but it was never shown. Well anyways, I still can’t say what I expect to happen in the future. Sure some douchebags burned down Hayami’s traincar and reminds us that not everyone is happy-go-lucky but that just shows me that there are still jackasses in the village and nothing more. Even Hotaru’s grandfather seems to have calmed down but I have my doubts about his current self.

Anyway, things won’t go the way they used to be now that Takuma and Hayami are a couple. Hopefully this means Takuma will now kick ass for her if it is needed!

What the hell did I just watch? LOL. Seriously, what the hell was that? It was a chaotic mess, though an hilarious one at that.
What the hell did I just watch? LOL. Seriously, what the hell was that? It was a chaotic mess, though an hilarious one at that. I think it’s obvious that this is filler (unless something like this really happens in the game…which would shock me even more) though it’s one that doesn’t piss you off (at least it didn’t do that to me). Well, even if it was mostly random and extremely weird I still got a lot of laughs from it, especially those parts involving Hajami and Takuma’s uncle. Don’t get me started on the whole Magical Girl Otoha vs. Yui thing. That had me rolling throughout the entire 20+ minutes. The important point of this episode though was that Otoha/Hinata has finally passed on…which I find kind of odd. Is she really gone for good? I mean, what about Takuma’s sight? Is he going to lose it or is it there to stay permanently now that she’s gone? I really don’t know what to expect anymore especially since the previews doesn’t give clues.

Wait, wait. So “Hinata” is actually Hotaru? So logically that means she was the younger sister and that “Hotaru” is Hinata and the older sister. This also reveals that, although it has been obvious for a while, that Otoha is Hinata, especially after seeing the story that Hotaru drew in her sketchbook. Ok that much makes sense but I don’t get what those old jackasses mean by having Hotaru use Hinata’s name. Is it some sort of successor thing? Blah, whatever. I just wish someone would stomp that old man into the ground. I could care less if he’s old. Though now that I understand what Hotaru has been through I take back the things I said about her previously because she really had it hard with losing her older sister and then being forced to live as her to protect the family “honour”.

Other than that it’s pretty funny how nearly everyone is buddy-buddy with Hayami now. Not too long ago they were all pretty much in hate-hate-hate mode but now they’re asking Hayami for help with things and laughing together. Though I guess it’s all for the best since the hate was senseless and stupid to begin with.

I’m wondering now though, what’s next for H2O? There’s the issue of Takuma’s sight, Hinata/Otoha is still around, and something might arise from that old jackass not liking that Hotaru finally revealed her true name to her friends. Well, I’m interested to see what happens next especially since I’m liking H2O more than I did in one or two of the previous episodes. Lastly, that magical girl next episode preview was hilarious LOL.

It looks as if my interest has been saved from extinguishing! No longer is it morbid curiosity but now I’m actually looking forward to seeing what happens from hereon out! That said, I had expected that ‘dumbass mentally’ had something to do with the hatred Hayami was receiving. I’ve seen that a few times and I think that is one of the highest levels of stupidity one can reach. I find the “Oh some members of your family wronged me, I hate them and so I hate you too even though you didn’t do anything!” mentality very annoying as it only shows that the person feeling that way is desperate to put the blame on someone. Still though, the episode overall was good enough to keep my eyes stuck to the screen. Though, did Yui forgive (not like it mattered) Hayami? I’m guessing she did if she was able to give her food and not call her a “roach” like she’s been doing since the start of the show.

Anyways, from what Otoha said in this episode it looks like Takuma’s blindness will be returning soon. It’s going to suck hard since it’s pretty disheartening to be able to see again only to go blind once more and not be able to see your friends and family anymore except in your memories/imagination. I’m rather interested in seeing how the rest of the series will progress from here.

I guess one would call it ‘morbid curiosity’ when I answer the question “Why are you [still] watching H2O?” with a weird hand gesture. Besides that there’s really nothing pulling me towards this show except for Hayami. Let’s admit it, that reunion at the end of the episode was nonsense or as Danny put it: bullshit. If the words ‘I’m sorry’ could bring forth forgiveness so easily there wouldn’t be a need for conflict in the first place. It’s all good that they’re friendly again but making up felt so cheap. Also, was that flashback supposed to be intense or something? Lining up to ‘confront the monster’? What the hell is this? Silent Hill? Resident Evil? Bah, they better reveal soon why Hayami and her family were/are treated so badly soon.

There’s one thing, ONE THING that made this episode awesome. What is that one thing you ask? Well it’s not exactly a thing but person. Yeah, you know who. None other than Hamaji. I can only imagine the shock on some people’s faces at Hamaji being a trap and a very convincing one at that. If Hamaji didn’t do what she did in the onsen then I doubt most would have found out unless they read game spoilers.

As for story progression…there wasn’t any really. Hayami wasn’t present in the episode that much except for the last few minutes. It’s good that she came to ask Takuma about his feelings but really they shouldn’t be too complicated at this point. I mean, after all, up till now he’s shown more interest in Hayami than anyone else. Hinata just throws herself at him and, well, she does have those huge boobs…. Anyway, dammit just give me more Hayami.
