Dragonaut ep. 15

[ Episode 15: Embrace -Those Who Beckon Each Other- ]
![]()
I took a break from Dragonaut for whatever reason but I’m back on track and determined to catch up! So first thing’s first, I loved it when Jin punched the hell out of Asim. That felt so good! Smug looks like his deserve nothing less than a jaw-rattling blow though I find it strange how it he didn’t seem to bleed from the punch. Lame. I’m not sure about the whole power of love thing but that one thing really stood out and made up for the ass-kicking Jin was receiving from some of those huge-breasted palace guards. I don’t know what happened to Asim as a kid but he grew up to be pretty touched in the head. Though I guess given Garnet’s affections, even people like him has a person who loves him. I guess I’ll see why in the next episode.

Not much happened in this episode aside from showing us Liner’s connection with Jin’s father and why he became a Dragonaut in addition to Akira and Machina deciding to support Jin instead of going off to Thanatos with the others. At the very end though it seems like a new dragon is about to emerge from Thanatos. I’m just going to guess that this one is going to be even stronger than the last. And, LOL! I laughed my ass off at Kazuki getting the hell owned out of him. Seeing as he is still in jackass mode and at a ridiculous level at that it would have been good if he died for good but if the new ED is any indication he will survive along with Widow (not that I wanted her to die though). I’m guessing he’ll return with an X-shaped scar like, uh, Scar from FMA and probably do something “redeeming”. Bleh.
Speaking of the new ED it sounds great and it’s a nice change from the slower-paced one before it. The portrayal of Machina and Garnet’s breasts are hilarious though.

Dragonaut ep. 13

[ Episode 13: Call - The Revealing Guidepost ]
This episode was really a good turning point. Nanami got shot in the back by Garnet but I doubt that she’s dead, especially being so close to the terminal to release Toa. If she dies now should wouldn’t have gotten the chance to redeem herself in front of Yuuri later on in the series. It’s quite obvious that she really cares for her so I’d think that the writers would at least let her see Yuuri at least once more before dying, if that is to be her fate.
The battles were very entertaining as well. Ostolum was pretty much dominating everyone until the very end when Itsuki and Otohime rushed him to take him out with the Type-X missile. Needless to say I was surprised to see Jin and Gio return to save the missile from falling and taking out Ostolum. I’m glad I wanted until now to watch this episode because a two week wait isn’t rightheous at this point in the story.

Dragonaut ep. 12

[ Episode 12: Assault - Emissary of the Blazing Flame ]
Man, Kazuki is such a pathetic guy. I’ve long since been disgusted with him but his actions in this episode are just unforgivable. Things don’t go his way and what does he do? Ah! He tries to kill both Gio and Jin. Wow, what a jackass. And of course Widow just had to save him from the debris at the end of the episode. At this point someone needs to save us from that douchebag.
Anyways, onto more important matters of the episode. It came as little surprise that Nozaki was a dragon though I didn’t think that he’d be an original for some reason. This makes it obvious now that Yuuri is his master. It doesn’t seem like anyone knew about it so Nozaki must be really damn good at keeping secrets.
As for Ostolm, looks like he resonated with Yuuya back at the station he destroyed. The question is now, is Yuuya still alive or dead? Well he doesn’t seem to be around anywhere so I’m guess he might be dead, especially given the attitude Ostolm has towards humans. Interesting though how his views are the polar opposite of Nozaki’s who sides with humans. It’ll be interesting to see how their battle turns out, I think.

Dragonaut ep. 11

[ Episode 11: Rumbling - Search for the Truth ]
Damn a lot of things stood out in this episode. I originally thought that Sakaki was seeing things in a few episodes ago whenever his daughter was shown but in this episode we see her twice. Once on the couch watching static on the television and again before he leaves for the ISDA and she’s heard opening the door and going to bed. Given the look of her eyes I’m guessing that she may be a dragon. Though how she was made to look like his deceased daughter is something I’d like to know.
The major part of this episode though involved the arrival of the fourth original dragon. It annihilated Itsuki’s unit and is now on Earth to raise hell if Toa’s reaction to its appearance is any indication. Speaking of which, it’s amazing how fast she was transported to Mars. o_O
Despite Nanami’s betrayal she’s already exhibiting some regret or at least feelings toward Yuuri seeing as she didn’t kill her which Garnet pointed out when she was settling in. I’m guessing something will happen involving those two later on in the series.
Lastly, damn Jin. He got an eye full of Akira’s entire naked body!

Dragonaut ep. 10

[ Episode 10: Truth - Shattered Mirror ]
I really enjoyed this episode. We got to see Akira and Machina’s Resonance and find out that Toa and Jin performed a Resonance during the accident two years in the past (though that last one was something I thought about before). The biggest reason is because Nanami being the spy was pretty damn unexpected. If anything only Nozaki really exhibited any hints at being a spy but Nanami pretty much was a bright and cheerful girl for most of the time we saw her prior to the end of this episode.
Toa’s mission, or at least a part of it, seems to be to capture the eggs in the ISDA. She was of course thwarted by Nozaki who she seems to recognize. There’s also his glowing eyes…which suggest that he’s a dragon. The question is, if he is, then what kind of dragon is he?

Dragonaut ep. 9

[ Episode 9: Resolve -Through the Tempest ]
Now this episode was freaking awesome. Lots of adrenaline and battles involving pretty much everyone. We even got to meet a new Dragonaut and Dragon who saved the Liner/Howling Star, Akira/Machina, and Sieglinde/Amaddeus from the main cannon fired by Garnet’s ship. I can’t wait to see more of her in the future. I don’t know if it’s too early to tell but it seems as if Jin won’t be holding a grudge against Toa for her confession. Instead he remembers the day of the accident and realizes that it was Toa who saved him from death. Her facial expression at that time was easily one of pain and sadness. When it all boils down to it though, I think he realizes that she had no control over her flight path.
Strangely enough I’m not pissed off by Kazuki in this episode. Is what I’d say if I didn’t see the very end of the episode. Gio and Jin just saved the shuttle…and the first thing he’s going to do is damn/curse Jin? Good lord, this emo-trip of his needs to stop and soon.

You know something is wrong with you when you’d rather have a guy dragon over a big breasted woman dragon.

Water and boobs are an interesting combination. A VERY interesting and enticing one at that.

Are you going to make me wait 10+ more episodes to see Jin and Toa kiss? You’ve got to be kidding me!
