CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 25 [END] + Review

[ Turn 25: Re; ]

It’s hard to believe that it’s all over now. Code Geass was my favorite show of 2007 and I came into R2 prepared to be amazed once more. Did it happen? It sure as hell did. But on what scale exactly? Hit the jump to find out and for my, Youko’s, and Blade’s final thoughts on what has been one hell of a ride since Turn 1.

CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 23

[ Turn 23: Schneizel's Mask ]

Schneizel makes my brain hurt. Not to mention I despise the bastard after what he did to Cornelia in this episode. Speaking of which, where the hell did those guns come from? Who makes the interior design for these places?! Seriously, they need to be friggin’ shot. With those very same guns. One of the most surprising and somewhat painful things of this episode though was seeing Nunnally be the one to launch FLEIA over and over, practically erasing hundreds and hundreds of people each time. Although she seems to be grounded in her beliefs, I still think she is not completely thinking for herself due to Schneizel’s influence.

CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 22

[ Turn 22: Emperor Lelouch ]

Lelouch >= Sayoko > God.

Son of a bitch! So I was right to think that Sayoko and Nunnally escaped death! Ok, this only further shows that Sayoko is among the top best characters in the entire show and she skyrocketed into my favorites even more than before. Anyway, Lelouch is officially the Emperor of Britannia and has his immediate siblings doing chores! Well, I suppose that’s one accomplishment anyone who has brothers and sisters would understand. :P As for why he’s against the world, I have no friggin idea what he’s doing. Is he doing it to try and erase the memory of what Euphie did under the influence of Geass? Who the hell knows. Well, except for Suzaku. Maybe. Though, I guess he can’t say he’s doing it for Nunnally since she’s alive.

CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 21

[ Turn 21: Ragnarok Connection ]

It almost feels like my brain was spun around at the speed of light after seeing all what transpired just a few moments ago. Trying to make sense of everything will probably take a while but I have most of the stuff processed. Most. I was pretty depressed with the way things turned out with Marianne. I’m not quite sure what I was expecting of her but I didn’t see her alliance with Charles coming at all. That completely blind sided me and seeing how she died just had me going “What the hell” throughout. Well, I’m pretty sure that despite what transpired, Marianne isn’t evil. The same can be said of Charles. They were both just…selfish and misguided in their intentions. Even though Lelouch pretty much expressed his disgust of how they abandoned him and Nunnally, they just don’t seem like villains. Ah, Marianne…I’ll still adore you no matter what. *sniff*

CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 20

[ Turn 20: Emperor Disqualification ]

What the…EH? Marianne is…inside Anya?! Goodness gracious. I always had a suspicion that she was at least still alive somehow but damn, I didn’t see this coming. My immediate guess as to how her situation is possible is that her Geass either allows her to possess a person or do a mind transfer. I’d love to see how it was all set up though. I find her behavior rather interesting as well…particularly toward Lelouch in the end. She seemed rather casual/flippant about saving her son and one would think a mother wouldn’t be that way. Then again, perhaps it doesn’t fall in place with keeping her cover. Or something like that.

CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 19

[ Turn 19: Betrayal ]

Sayonara, Rolo. Yup. Rolo is dead. I didn’t think that he’d go out protecting Lelouch from both Britannia and the Black Knights though. While others might say he redeemed himself and other such sentences with the word “respect” in them, him being Shirley’s murderer is still fresh in my mind so…yeah…I don’t really know what to say in that regard. At least he saved Lelouch from the OBK traitors. Speaking of which, I held my head throughout the entire discussion Schneizel had with Todou and the others. I just couldn’t bring myself to process how they were so easily believing everything Schneizel was telling them. Don’t get me started on Ogi. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t give a damn about the OBK anymore than Nina does. He may as well just go and play around with Villetta.

CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 18

[ Turn 18: The 2nd Decisive Battle of Tokyo ]

Is “HOLY F*CKING SH*T” too explicit? Hmm. Yeah it is, but that doesn’t stop it from being an appropriate reaction when it comes to this episode. I mean, seriously, Nunnally? Sayoko? Both dead? WHAT? It seems like it. Or are they? I still can’t bring myself to believe it after being stunned for at least a half hour or more after having seen the episode. Actually, I’m still stunned and struggling to be coherent while I write. I just can’t bring myself to believe that Nunnally or Sayoko are dead. That said, I have thought of the possibility of Sayoko using her abilities to ninja both her and Nunnally away from the explosion. It makes more sense than anything else happening…those being someone with a teleportation Geass or Charles somehow doing something. Speaking of which, why the hell has he come to Japan?

CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 17

[ Turn 17: The taste of earth]

Heh. I’m not surprised that Lelouch and Suzaku’s meeting turned sour. I was waiting for the whole thing to fall apart since the very start to be honest. Well, unless something happens at the very end, this seems like it’ll be the last falling out those two will have. Lelouch seemed to be really hurt by the betrayal, even though it wasn’t Suzaku’s fault. What happened after that was freaking hilarious though, with Guilford saving Lelouch because he was Geass’d to think that Lelouch is Cornelia (with a certain pose). I guess that is a potential death flag for him.

CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 16

[ Turn 16: United federation of nations solution #1]

Haha. It’s pretty awkward trying to adjust to the new C.C. She’s just so…innocent. Not only that but the scar that was under her left breast is now gone. What could that possibly mean? Also, Suzaku got his ass KICKED by Kallen so good. I was almost rolling in my chair at how hilarious that was. She should have given him a super uppercut. I’m still wondering when she is going to be rescued though. The next episode would be a good time for her to return to the OBK but it probably won’t happen. This episode also shot up some potential death flags. Chiba might go down since she admitted to Toudou that she has something to tell him after the war is over. Uh oh. Lloyd also told Nina that she may die for trying to get Suzaku to use her WMD on the Japanese. Or maybe he was just trying to make a point. Who knows for sure? Though it wouldn’t be surprising if she did die, I think…
