New character time! It seems pretty obvious that Azanael and Onomii had a relationship in the past and now Onomii is dead in the present. Azanael seems to know that already but probably doesn’t know how it happened. I’d say it most likely involves the incident from five years ago. I want to see more of those developments soon. As for Hagino and Mari, their relationship is still pretty shaky but at least they aren’t at each other’s necks. Well, I’m sure something will happen soon that will bring them together.

Oh man, I’m so late with catching up to this series that it isn’t funny. >_< So I better get right into things and not stall my thoughts.

This episode was much more well-paced than the first. A good amount of things happened which included finding out that Mari is the sole survivor of a disaster that occurred five years ago. That incident is pretty odd, especially given the info right at the very end of the episode but I'm sure it will become clearer later on. For now though I'm interested in what exactly Mari is to have caused such a reaction from Hagino and as well as being able to see Tsubael, Hagino's subordinate.

Wow. I love the feeling this show gives me. It isn’t too often that I feel totally absorbed into a show that I feel like I’m in the world with the characters. Well, BLUE DROP has done that to me and it feels great. I attribute that to the wonderfully done animation, the crisp sounds, and the characters introduced so far. It’s going to be interesting to see how Mari and Hagino’s relationship develops from here though since they’re on shaky ground at the moment. I liked how Hagino made it seem like she was going to hold Mari’s face for a kiss but instead started choking her. There’s something about that that hits me with realism for some reason. It’s a pity that she did something she didn’t want to do though and now it’s led to a misunderstanding. I did laugh at the beatdown Mari got into when she threw water on Hagino though. Those fangirls are dangerous, LOL!

The animation is breathtaking and is definitely one of the leaders so far in the fall season. It really showcases itself with the characters and their movements and especially in scenes like the seagulls flying all around Hagino and the choking and plant/water throwing scenes between Hagino and Mari. There was no ED this week but in place of it at the end of the episode was the OP, BLUE, by the lovely Suara. The song is so powerful and I can’t wait to hear a full version. So far it’s the best opening theme I’ve heard of the new season.

Rest assured that BLUE DROP will continue being covered by me.
