Anime Inbou Awards 2008, pt. 4 ~ oshimai

I couldn’t think of a better way to end this then calling this last part the end, so you get your oshimai instead. This final entry has a whopping eight categories so this is where the best of the best lie. Our focus here is on the story and direction of the show and overall how it was handled in the end. Cheers to 2008, but let’s hope 2009 is even better! Read more
Anime Inbou Awards 2008, pt. 3 ~ music

Third round and this time, it’s all about the music. You can have anime with voices, but once you cue the music at the right time, you get some pretty amazing results. Kudos to all the composers and arrangers, and the vocalists for all their hard work! Firstly, we’d like to get our Top 10 Opening Themes and Ending Themes outta the way. Read more
Anime Inbou Awards 2008, pt. 2 ~ character

The second part of AIA ‘08 focuses now on what makes a show unique and that is the numerous amount of characters, each with their own personalities, preferences, hobbies, you name it. They give life to the show and they are the stars that get seiyuu their money in their wallets. For this year, we’ve added a seiyuu of the year, for male and female, because we just love our seiyuu and they deserve our kudos. Read more
Anime Inbou Awards 2008, pt. 1 ~ genre

Every year, fresh from the Land of the Rising Sun, an overflow of anime in all directions surges out, and we, as technophiles, catch those torrents. In the year of 2008, there was quite many hits and misses. There’s no in-betweens, no so-sos, no kindas, sortas, or littles. Well… maybe… but I’d be lying if I said 2008 was failure. While there were quite a number of mundane shows (mostly from the mundane summer season, which is, by default, traditionally mundane anyway), we can look past them and say we got some good shows out there. So which ones did we find awesome? Which ones were the best? Which ones made us laugh the most? Made us cry the most? Which parts made us shit bricks? All that and more answered when we reveal our picks from this year. A year ago, it was mostly just Leon and I, but the number of writers have doubled, and frankly, that does sound like too much, but with this, you all can see just how diverse our picks are. Variety can be a good thing sometimes. Let’s see just how much we agree and disagree, shall we? Read more
Anime Awards 2007 ni Youkoso! Part 3 ~ ONE MORE FINAL

![]()
This one was a long time in coming but it’s finally here. It originally started off with Youko and I but with the addition of a new writer a few weeks back, Blade has now joined in for the final award entry. Most of our choices might or might not surprise you. We agree on some and differ greatly on others. These were some of the more difficult categories we came across and required some thought which is one factor as to why this entry took so long to come out.
I hope you enjoy this final installment to the Anime Awards 2007 and look forward to 2008’s at the end of the year. Now, jump the cut to view our ONE MORE FINAL!

Beyond the genre and even the title there are the things that form a show as a whole. There’s the story, the characters, the seiyuu, and music. As a result of those there are certain shows we remember because they left a big impression on us for various reasons. It could be because someone died in a spectacular way or because we were introduced to one of the greatest douchebags known to man (okay, at least in anime/manga history). Whatever the element, we hold dear to us our favorite characters and moments and either smile, frown, or shake our heads at some of the shocks and surprises that blindsided us. That is a flash of what we’ll be discussing here in Part 2: The Black Blood Days.
Like last time there will be spoilers ahead. You have been warned.
Anime Awards 2007 ni Youkoso! Part 1 ~ Genre Edition

This year has been an interesting one for anime. Some may say that it was one of the worst and others would beg to differ. I don’t think I fall into either bunch but rather I was simply on cruise control for most of the year just enjoying show after show that came out. I had many experiences over the past twelve months that left me in various states. I laughed, cried, face-palmed, groaned, sighed in frustration, stared questioningly, cheered and shouted, and threw verbal threats at many of the anime I’ve seen in 2007. Now here on the last day I’ve come to look back on everything and to think about which shows deserve end-of-the-year recognition.
Therefore, I’m glad to announce the 1st Anime Awards ni Youkoso! that myself and Youko will be hosting. We’ll be discussing various shows that came throughout the year. Among those discussions will be highlighting our best and favored shows and perhaps even the utter fail and worse of the year. You’ll have to keep reading to find out.
Oh yeah, and don’t forget that these are our personal opinions on what we’ve watched and completed. So we know that some will agree or disagree. There may also be spoilers. So, don’t have a fit if something you like didn’t win, ‘kay? ^__^
And lastly, we wish everyone a Happy New Year 2008!!
