So the ending that we got is the only ending that we got? That really is the entire story as of right now?

Yumemi said that the pillar was still there even though they couldn’t see it. Because it’s made of spirits and spirits don’t have a form until people give them a form. Basically that Munto was killing himself for nothing trying to hold it up, when it wasn’t really falling apart to begin with.

At least that’s what I think she was saying.

The connection was severed by the original heavenly beings and forgotten by those on the lower Earth. I’m guessing that because so many of them died they had no way of preserving any info on what happened.

Oh, and Munto is KyoAni’s original property. The TV series is a “retelling” of the OVAs apparently.

I found the ending confusing. So basically the connection between the two worlds had always existed, but had been forgotten somehow?

And was this series based on something else?
