lol wasn’t expecting Sugita to be here. Great seiyuu choice. As for Father Kanae, oh god this guy is awesome. He’s almost like a less perverted version of Kanako except without the nosebleeds. Very delusional when it comes to understanding the things around him and he constantly thinks about his “Mama” up in heaven. Actually, it’s funny how it seemed like both characters were mirroring each other when they were trying to find something to say (them using slang caught me off guard lol). If a second season happens, this guy needs to be around more often. And he’s got great taste too. He just doesn’t chase after anybody with a pair of tits like someone else we know.

The scenes with the idioms and metaphors were a bit irritating since I had to pause every now and then to see what the hell they wanted me to read. And it was nice to know I wasn’t the only one irritated as even Mariya pointed the annoyance out along with a Ghost in the Shell reference lol. Though Kanae sure knows his stuff. I can see why he’s the Japanese teacher. Just a bit weird that we haven’t seen him till now.

The brother misunderstanding had me wondering how Kanako acts towards her father. Does her hatred of men reach even towards him? I don’t recall him ever being mentioned making their relationship a mysterious one. Actually I have a feeling it was mentioned as a subtle clue or something, and I just forgot. Either way, I hope Kanako’s background will come into play soon since the only thing known about her is that she’s a pervy lesbian.

Next one is the last one. I’m expecting the Kanae stuff to wrap up for a nice season finish. A second season is most likely going to happen. SHAFT would be crazy not to go for it with this material and the manga still running.
