[ Episode 1: Things I know ]

Long title is LONG. And here I thought Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto was a mouth full.

This premiere surely ended up surprising me. I had no idea what to expect with only barebones knowledge that Kyoto Animation was handling the show and that it once had a two-episode OVA. So while this is a remake to those who’ve already seen the OVA, it is a brand new series to me and after what was shown in the first episode I’m really liking it so far. A lot of foundation was set with this episode, introducing the conflict that is taking place in the Heavenly world and quickly yet carefully presenting the main and supporting cast. The story is shaping up to be pretty epic and the characters, while not yet quite fleshed out, have a lot of promise, especially Munto, Yumemi, and Kazuya. Speaking of the characters, I’m really liking their unique designs so far and it helps in a series like this that has a pretty sizeable cast.

The music used so far was lovely and I can hardly wait for the soundtrack. I’m curious as to whether these are all-new pieces or if some were carried over from the previous OVA series. The OP and ED themes are both lovely, I especially like the OP done by eufonius since it reminds me of Noein’s Idea.

One thing I’m left wondering about is exactly how Yumemi is going to be able to help Munto and his kingdom. What sort of power does she possess? Perhaps it has to do something with the creation of Akuto? Or maybe she is Akuto? At this point it’s too early to tell but I am intrigued as to exactly why she is known as the Girl of Destiny. Munto also seems to be a pretty interesting guy so I’d like to see how he interacts with other characters on top of seeing how he will overcome his apparent weakness that all Heavenly beings seem to suffer when descending to the Lower World. That’s not even factoring in how he’s going to get Yumemi into the Magical Kingdom but I’m sure he’ll find some way. I’m pretty excited to see where this series will go and I’ll definitely be following it to the end.

The title’s much longer if you translate it. “The World Reflected in the Eyes of the Girl Who Looks Up At the Sky.” It’s as long as Sambomaster song titles.

Let’s just go with Munto TV for easiness.

I wonder which title they would go with if this eventually gets licensed? :P

Definitely would translate it to English just like how there’s “This Ugly Yet Beautiful World.”

I think I’ll pick this one up, provided I can find some links.
