Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka ep. 9~12 [END]

![]()
[ Episode 9: Rose Madder Colored Birthday ]
So we learn where Jun’ichi keeps his stash of dirty mags, and we also learn that Minato reads them often too. Yup, something’s definitely wrong with this family. Yuuhi goes out on her way to make Jun’ichi a cake, which turns out to be good according to the birthday boy himself. I’m not sure if he’s acting nice on purpose, but his kindness only makes things worse for some reason. Oh that’s right, looks like Minato’s starting to wonder. Best part of this episode was seeing Nagomi wrapped up in ribbons.
[ Episode 10: Rose Madder Colored Confusion ]
Okay, Jun’ichi and Yuuhi are now open with their feelings. Well, that’s gotten things off to a wonderful start. But then, what the hell is this drama suddenly going on? Since when the hell did Fuyuhiko ever cared for anything if anything at all? Isn’t he gay for Jun’ichi? Now he’s telling his best friend (BTW, how did Jun’ichi end up being friends with these people?) to think about who he truly likes and how he feels about her. Minato suddenly clings to her brother at the end. I think she’s feeling either ronery or envy or both.

[ Episode 11: Rose Madder Colored Puzzlement ]
Jun’ichi gets called to see his parents but it turns out he was being kidnapped… then his parents nuked the kidnappers. Something like that. After all this time, they actually go and meet their son and then they suddenly leave. Okay… Was there ever a point in showing the parents blowing up stuff at all? Drama ensues between Yuuhi and Minato after Yuuhi comes back feeling the strangest atmosphere that something may have gone on between the siblings. Yuuhi’s right, Jun’ichi is a real idiot.

[ Episode 12: The Hills Dyed Rose Madder ]
Right after Yuuhi and Jun’ichi finally got along, Yuuhi breaks up with him. Well it sure was fun while it lasted. Okay, what do you expect from him, anyway? This guy chose his imouto in the end. I-I-I-… IMOUTO?! I’m with Ren-ren here. Okay, sure, they might not actually be siblings as hinted from the parents, but if it’s the thought that counts… just what is this conclusion? Wincest or Failcest? I dunno, but I personally would’ve gone with Yuuhi instead of Minato. In fact, I would’ve gone with Tsukasa or Ren-ren, actually. I gotta say, Minato is one pretty selfish person for just leaving Jun’ichi like that. Then she goes and gets comfy living with Nagomi in her weird lab. Seeing Geno Killer’s old look made me baffle in laughter. Oh man, he should’ve don that look forever. So basically he convinced himself that he loves his sister. Good job, Geno. Okay so,… wearing your old fingerless gloves makes you a better person again? “I’ve sealed up my alter ego”… Yes, by wearing a pair of gangster mitts. I don’t understand this concept, but if everyone’s happy I guess that means this was a happy ending.

SERIES REVIEW
To be honest, Akasaka was a big plunder overall. There were occasional funny moments, but not even those saved the show. The best thing I got from this was probably the school festival. (Let’s be frank, all school festivals of any show are good.) Seeing Jun’ichi pilot a mecha and still fuck up was pretty damn awesome.
One thing that I couldn’t stand were the characters. Fuyuhiko is an annoying guy when he’s joking around but he’s even more of a nuisance when he pries into Jun’ichi’s business. Nagomi was a bit stoic but her purpose was ambiguous from the start. What her objective was and why she was part of it made no sense to me whatsoever, just as much as Jun’ichi’s parents. Mitsuki has the most grotesque hair ever. If I were a student there, I’d think just how humiliating it is to be looking at her as a president, no offense.
Tsukasa had some background to her at least. And Ren-ren… will I simply love Ren-ren because she tries to act pompous. But still, she suddenly declared her as a love rival? She didn’t even do anything! Overall though, the cast was pretty flat and hardly anything memorable. The only thing I recall them ever doing was fucking around with Jun’ichi affairs. With people like the Nagase agents, who really needs parents? Yuuhi wasn’t all too bad actually. Unfortunately she didn’t get to be with Jun’ichi in the end.
Can’t say I didn’t see it coming from this show. It was entertaining to watch, but not at all the best. If I had to choose, this would likely be the worst show of 2008. Not exactly sure how different this is from the visual novel story, but I can’t be bothered to check. I do like the songs they have like the ending songs changing. I’d recommend this to anyone interested in such love comedies and dense protagonists with unusual backgrounds. SHINASU~!

You gotta be kidding! Maybe from Jun’ichi’s perspective, as her brother, Minato is the wrong (but not bad!) choice. But from any other guy’s perspective (maybe even girl’s), Minato is an awesome wifey to have!
She cooks, cleans, slices sushi, and holsters a pair of melons that shame 99.9% of Japanese girls!
Selfish?? How the @#$#! do you see that? Her departure is the only push that Jun’ichi needed in order to make his choice so that all three of them can move on.
*Breath*
Well, I do agree that this is one of the more forgettable show of the year, but certainly not the worst. How did you go from “entertaining to watch but not the best” to “likely the worst show to suck ass in 2008.” Whoa, slow down there cowboy.
Out of all I’ve seen from the year, it was certainly the worst. I did say it was entertaining, yes. I thought it was amusing how the character interactions and events went, but that doesn’t mean everything that went on was something to write home about.
Minato’s actions showed that she wanted to be with Jun’ichi, but at the same time didn’t want to interfere with Yuuhi. Her leaving near the end was unnecessary as there are simply better solutions I’m sure could’ve been used. Of course, it worked out in the end so everyone’s happy.
Failcest? Youko, what are you smoking?
imoutotits is the only true end
Frankly, if this was an anime I cared so much about, I wouldn’t be disagreeing with you.
