Shikabane Hime: Aka ep. 7

[ Episode 7: The False Soul of Language ]
Makina kicks ass even with ONE arm.

This was yet another great episode. If there’s one thing Shikabane Hime excels in it is definitely action. This episode re-introduces Minai and Isaki who have taken over the duties of Makina and Keisei since they’re still out of action. Well, mostly Keisei anyway but Makina is still missing her right arm. The fight this time around felt a lot more raw since Minai is a hand-to-hand specialist unlike Makina and Itsuki. I really love the way she fights and the animation used for her battle against the justice-freak Corpse was superb. What I don’t like though is her douchebag contracted priest, Isaki. He pretty much goes out of his way to mistreat her and insult others, especially Shikabane Himes. He must have some serious issues that occurred in the past.
Anyway, Akasha’s past is still a bit cloudly even though a little more was revealed. He was shown holding hands with his Shikabane Hime quite affectionately and then again holding the upper-half of her body in tears. From the looks of things, it doesn’t look like he killed her. Could it have been another Shikabane Hime that was contracted to him then? There’s not much to go on for now. Also, Oori is insane! The dude tackled a Corpse off of that bridge! Not only that, but he jumped in front of the attack on Minai but was luckily saved by Makina (again). Those two really are quite attached to each other…
