SUMMARY
Nagi is found inside Jin’s closet, forcing herself to stay inside because of something horrible Jin did while she was bathing. Jin tries and fails to get her out. Not even Tsugumi’s help does the job. Jin calls Akiba over to fix the situation. While awaiting Akiba’s arrival, Zange and the other members of the Art Club unexpectedly show up, but nothing they do convinces Nagi. Jin finally reveals the story to everyone: while Nagi was taking a bath, Jin decided to record a kitten show, thinking Nagi would be happy. What he didn’t realize was that he recorded over an episode of Lolikko Cutie that she had yet watched. Akiba finally shows up and arrives with a disc and video of the episode but apparently Jin doesn’t have any player that plays those formats. In the end, the gang couldn’t do anything. After everyone leaves, Jin sits down in front of the closet and explains how he might’ve been treating her the same way his father did to him, but what Jin did was truly for Nagi and he would’ve been glad if someone did the same for him. He ends his talk with a final apology. All of a sudden Nagi walks into the room with food, accepting his apology, leaving Jin in certain disbelief and discombobulation.

REVIEW
A rather interesting episode this time around. It’s possibly the weakest I’ve seen so far, but it had plenty of good moments involved. During the episode, I constantly thought “Nagi won’t come out of the closet” jokingly, but she obviously sneaked out a couple of times to steal Jin’s Capilus Water. I can’t really imagine how anyone could reside in a closet. Okay, maybe Rukia, but yeah, it’s a pretty stuffy closet in Jin’s house. At least Nagi kept herself from boredom by panning through his naughty mags. Throughout the whole thing, I was led to believe he did something perverted. I guess that message was trying to be shown the entire time, but that wasn’t the case. I did tape over some old videos before and my dad was a bit upset about that, but it wasn’t such a big deal. Sometimes you just don’t see Nagi as an actual god, but a spoiled little girl with clumsy exorcism powers.
The way everyone sudden showed up reminded me of the 22 Short Films About Springfield episode of The Simpsons, where a bunch of random characters came to suggest how to fix Lisa’s hair dilemma. Takako’s look was way more attractive and makes her look less fujoshi-like. Approved whole-heartily, of course! She even gives Tsugumi a nickname - here’s to Too shy-shy girl. Tsugumi’s unsurprising reaction to Zange having her way with Jin was hilarious. Adding Zange-chan to the mix always gets her riled up, which leaves for entertainment and love comedy. I really love how Tsugumi talked back at Zange. Perhaps we’ll see more of her bi-polar traits more. Keeps the laughter going. She went more overboard with Jin so I’m guessing she took full advantage of that. Whatever did she do? Perhaps it’s NSFW, but oh man, it’s kind of a shame it had to end. I lost it after Zange says, “Jin-kun, look at how much you’ve discharged.” Though, that really was a lot of blood loss.

Overall, it was a bit average, but there was some great lines. It’s been a long time hearing Nagi make up her own puns on a whim (すてきなスティック) so it was a nice refresher course. She almost went to hikikomori status the way she was acting but sneaking out every so often behind Jin’s back was the funniest bit, especially the ending where she waltz in like nothing, yet Jin plasters a huge WTF on his face for 10 seconds. Priceless, indeed.
Akiba’s totally the comic relief guy that every gang needs. He continues to get the awesome flowing with his laughable lines. I wonder if Sony got the producers to advertise their products. Usually you see parodies of real life stuff, like “Animers,” the anime-existent equivalent to “Animate” and “Gamers” (Konata’s two main otaku goods shops) if they were combined, and other things like “11-Seven.” So seeing something like “Blu-ray” and even mentioning Sony’s name means something. Ah yes, what was Daitetsu’s misunderstanding, anyway? And Jin really needs to close his door. I have to admit though, that GAR-ass hug between Jin and Akiba was fucking hilarious.
This time around, the ED sequence was unused and so there was also no end card this week too. Instead, we’re treated to Nagi watching the Lolikko Cutie episode she had missed. I think it could pass as a random anime in the future, but I don’t think Nagi was all too impressed in the end. Based on first impressions, it looked like a cross between PreCure and Nanoha with a bit of Ultraman-liness to it.

What’s Beta?
It’s a Sony.
Back in the day, Betamax was Sony’s own videocassette tape format competing against the VHS. Of course, we use VHS, meaning it won the video format war.
