[ Episode 13: Running Barefoot]

It’s over. Furuichi won by 12 centimeters.

After one month of waiting, Xam’d: Lost Memories is finally back on the net. For those of you who don’t know, the reason for the one month gap between episodes 12 and 13 was because Sony wanted Japan’s PS3 Network to catch up to where we were. Yeah, surprisingly Xam’d hit the U.S. first before Japan. I know there was a LQ version of 13 floating around before the gap (13 was up for a short while before Sony pulled it off), but this anime should definitely be watched in at least SD. The reason is because it’s simply gorgeous to look at, especially in HD.

Akiyuki’s mom shone the most in this episode to me. Her scene when she was desperately running, looking for Akiyuki was really touching; especially when she admitted that he’s not coming back. Akiyuki’s parents have to be the most thought out and developed characters in the show. The chemistry between the whole family is really interesting and their scenes bring the show down to earth from all the crazy stuff that’s going on.

And Furuichi has snapped… even more. Hoping for some serious ass kicking in the next episode. His Xam’d form looked really ugly in the preview like it was some reject Xam’d. I wonder how the military will react when they discover that he’s a Xam’d as well.
