CHAOS;HEAD ep. 2

[ Episode 2: Ego ]

A girl brandishing a sharp object at my neck is so hot.

Takumi is sad. SAD. I can’t help but shake my head at the guy whenever I watch this show. He seriously needs to pull himself out of the 2D world and clean the hell up. Anyway, enough about that loser. I really loved how Yua showed her true colors in this episode. I knew that something was up with her wanting to get to know Takumi so badly but I couldn’t figure out why. I mean seriously, there really isn’t ANYONE SANE who would want to be around this guy, right? Well, then again there is Rimi but her sanity is still in question anyways. I’m especially weary of her since she showed signs of jealousy when talking to Yua in the episode.

Going back to Yua, I loved how she repeated everything she was saying to Takumi in the final scenes. Honestly, I’d be pretty freaked out if a girl I just started to get to know did that to me. Her having that cross in her hand wasn’t helpful either. I’m even more curious as to what her deal is now though. She obviously isn’t a detective from what we’ve seen so far. So that means she must be someone who is very curious about the New Gen events taking place.

Overall, I’m really enjoying CHAOS;HEAD. The story and storytelling are keeping me on my toes at all times and the confusion between what’s reality and delusion in regard to Takumi is pretty interesting witness. I can’t tell what’s going to happen next and that’s a good thing. A very good thing.

Takumi sure knows how to cockblock himself. It’s kinda hilarious seeing him the way he is. I mean, the guy’s just so laughable, how can anyone fathom him? I feel sorry for his sister. So he wants the lowest attendance he can get? Why bother attending at all, it’s not like he’d put up with working somewhere after graduation (or you know, drop out).

Well anyway, the episode itself was pretty weird right when he and Yua go out again. So it looks like Yua is partly fanatical but her real objective was to get to Takumi. I was a bit confused here because of the whole Shogun identity. From what we saw, he’s definitely not Shogun. Then again, Takumi is delusion 89% of the time so who knows. He clearly didn’t even remember Rimi after seeing a photo of her with him and his friend. I like how Yua spouted basically the same words again, and I just had to laugh every time she did that. It would even get me intimidated but I think it’s just so annoying when Takumi never says anything without reluctance or hesitation. Well this clearly explains why Yua put up with him at all. No one would seriously want to be around him, except maybe Rimi, who seems to show some interest in him (or maybe it’s something else). One thing’s for sure, there’s something strange going on in Shibuya and the mystery is thickening each time.

heh, wait ’til you guys see ep 3.

you guys seemed to take the pink-haired chick just appearing and claiming she’s a friend since 1st year pretty well. i sort of sided with the lead and just went “wtf” when she showed up.

heh, i think the anti-social/hikikomori characteristic of the lead is part of the appeal to the series in general. just like um, crap, what’s that series with the dolls? well, the lead was pretty anti-social/hikikomori. but then he sort of turned not so. i’d be disappointed if the lead in this series slowly just changes to the average joe of japan at the end of it all.
