Shikabane Hime: Aka ep. 2

[ Episode 2: Continuation of the Game ]
Just how soft is Makina’s body?

I found this episode to be much better than the first. Maybe it’s because I’ve already gotten used to the characters already or maybe it’s because it was better structured. Whatever the case, the Shikabane this time around were ones that I didn’t expect at all: children. This episode raises a lot more questions in my mind though. Exactly how are Shikabane such as Makina created? So far those who just resurrect on their own seem to always been brutal killers regardless of their reason to continue on living. My guess is that it has something to do with the contractors, which is a word just introduced in this episode. We even got to see another Shikabane by the name of Minari. Her contractor doesn’t seem to be as kind as Keisei though…
The OP seems to show even more Shikabane as well and I can hardly wait to see them. As for Ouri, he continues to puzzle me. He seems to not mind that a cat is talking to him. Or at least that’s what we’re being led to believe. Not only that, but he doesn’t seem to be too freaked out by all of the Shikabane stuff (although he did react to what happened in the park at the very end). What does the future hold for him and Makina? Will he become her contractor? Or maybe even something more? It’s hard to tell now especially since a lot of my guesses are based on what I saw flash by in the OP sequence (which is a pretty damn good song by the way).

I like this episode better than the first, too. The atmosphere is much better.
