[ Episode 1: Academy City ]

I walked into this show with only a little knowledge on the premise thanks to a trailer I saw a day or so ago. It grabbed my interest and after watching this introductory episode, it looks like it won’t be letting me go! I love the entire premise so far with espers being a normal part of Academy City. That means there won’t really be anyone surprised to see a young girl letting off lightning. Awesome. Magic will be making its appearance as well and I’m excited to see exactly how it differs from esper abilities. The characters introduced so far are really likeable, especially Index, Mikoto, and Touma. Index is pretty cute while Mikoto is bringing the pretty and spunky attitude. Touma is a pretty cool guy and doesn’t try to be anything more than an average guy from his actions so far. I find his power to be pretty good stuff too. Though, I’m wondering just to what extent he can dispel things. Does that include magic as well? I guess we’ll find that out in the next episode now that an enemy has shown up.
The episode itself went by faster than I thought, especially with Index being injured so badly and an enemy showing up but it’s all good. That just means we get to see what seems to be an awesome battle in the next episode much sooner! I hope a few more characters are introduced in the next episode as well because I’ve taken a liking to at least two that were shown in the opening sequence (particularly the girl with the sword). I don’t know where this series will take me but I’m willing to just sit back and see how everything unfolds. Something tells me that Index is going to be a great ride and I can’t wait to see more.

This one reminds me so much of Shakugan no Shana. And it’s really awesome, too.
It doesn’t help matters much that J.C. Staff are behind it either in regards to the Shana-feel. =D
Seemed a bit silly at times, but shows potential.
