CHECKMATE-O FOR LELOUCH! ALL HAIL LELOUCH!

Man, I so did not see Lelouch’s victory surfacing in this manner. If there ever was a time the words PWNT had to appear in this series in neon letters across the screen, then the exact moment that Schneizel got Geassed would be it. Seriously, he needed to be put out of temporary misery if only because he really had no purpose but to BS around with his so-called peace-talks. Moving on, I’m glad that Cornelia turned out to be okay but how the HELL did Guilford survive? Then again, it is better I not even think about that since Nunnally and Sayoko got out just fine.

Speaking of Nunnally, my heart literally dropped when she opened her eyes. My first thought was along the lines of “OMG…” and then drifted to “My, my, she’s even much more cuter with her eyes open…” which then finally punctuated with “Oh no…she’s susceptible to Lelouch’s Geass now!”. Hopefully she makes it through all of this without too much trauma. Now the only thing left to find out is exactly what Zero Re:quiem turns out to be.

Talk about turnabouts, Lelouch actually outsmarted Schneizel! Now he’s got Schneizel under his command so it looks good for Lelouch. It looks like the battle of KnightMares are going strong, but the final battle between Lancelot and Guren is totally inevitable as they are the two best ones out there. I feel epic battles coming on.

The biggest part comes at the end when Lelouch confronts Nunnally, and she suddenly opens up her eyes for the first time since that incident 8 years ago. Such beautiful eyes, but will Lelouch Geass her in the end? Nice way to set up the finale, I think.

How can one survive a nuke? I guess Guilford is part cockroach if he is able to survive, not to mention Cornellia surviving after he brother shot her, but maybe those bullets weren’t real. That being said, I am really said they did that. I can maybe understand Cornellia’s “death” because it seems that Schneizel used fake bullets to get her out of the way rather than killing her, but there is no way Guilford just managed to get out of there. Nunnally survived because she has a ninja assistant…

Now you probably thinking I am surprised Lelouch outsmarted Schneizel. Not really. I actually saw it a mile away. Considering how much the show emphasizes on Lelouch’s evolution and even defeating his father, doing the same to his brother wouldn’t be much different. I was a little sad seeing Diethard going and I really wished he would at least scar Lelouch, but I’ll give him credit for going out with a bang.

Other than that, typical war affair. I have to say that this time it isn’t as exciting as the last episodes of the previous seasons, but the scene were Nunnally opened her eyes was the best cliffhanger they can come up with for the final episode. If she has a Geass that’d be priceless!
