What better place to get your manga ideas serialized than in Jump? Well, I can actually think up TONS of other, much better, publications. But since this is a Jump title itself, obviously they want to put some self-promotion in there.
But wait, Jump may be ridiculously popular as hell, but don’t most of their titles turn into shitty anime later on? I’m talking about how Jump titles fall into filler mode syndrome. They definitely don’t want that do they? Well, since Ohba and Obata’s last work together didn’t even get an adaptation until after it was finished, I guess I can see where they’re going with this.
From the way Akito talked about Shueisha and Jump though, it was almost like hearing they are the TV equivalent of any broadcasting that isn’t Fox, who are suckers that would take anything. So Akito pitches his two ideas that he thinks up in less than a minute. One very cliché sci-fi story, and another less cliché story about a blind baseball pitcher.
+ Sunglass Pitcher has a great story
- Double Earth, while hilarious, is totally lame

LOL @ the manga ideas.
I didn’t see those coming at all. I was…kind of expecting something with swords even though they dismissed it already. The two-earths idea is actually pretty interesting though and I wouldn’t mind seeing something like that done in reality. Though the chances are slim. The baseball idea was also intriguing though sounded a bit more far fetched to me for some reason (yeah, even more than a cloned earth). Then again, “Sunglass Pitcher” sounds pretty damn awesome. Both are rather hilarious ideas though and I wonder just how far are they going to get with them.
