Kita ze Inbou! - キタぜ陰謀!

Lucky☆Star ep. 19

[ Episode 19: There is Substance in 2-D ]

Chin chin!

Konata starts off by discussing the cuteness of, I’m assuming, Nintendogs. I’ve never been into that game before since I think it’s just gibbery-joo, but it’s really damn popular among the (female?) masses so I can’t really complain about marketing. Tsukasa makes me laugh though. In fact, I can’t help but laugh now every time I heard “chin chin” and the like. Gotta admit that even I thought something entirely unrelated too when she mentioned it.

After the title marker, Konata and her dad go into serious Gundam talk, with plenty of bleeps so I have no idea WTF they are saying. I don’t watch Gundam either so it makes less sense to me. The only thing I could relate to was that Gundam is an undying series and it’s definitely within Sunrise’s power to make some weird spinoff as Konata suggests.

Ah, homework. Always a real pain. It’s funny seeing Konata panic when Yutaka asks about it. There’s that whole responsibility since you’re the senior, but if you’re related to the Izumis, that’s not going to work. Not even Yui-neesan can help out, it’s pretty sad. At times like this everyone should just rely on Miyuki-san, or you know, Nanako. It’s depressing for her when her own students don’t even ask for help. Speaking of her though, Kuroi-sensei gets some major time for her own finally. She’s a really heavy drunk, seeing as how she woke up two days later. She needs a boyfriend fast.

Even Hiyori got most of the episode dedicated to her daily bits. I laughed so hard when she tripped and then suddenly turned her body around to land on her back. The artist’s hand is their life after all! She’s really talented though. Her drawings of GS4 characters are really outstanding. Hiyori can get a bit nutsy though. After witnessing FMA characters out on the street, noticing more otaku at bowling using Haruhi names, and imagining Yutaka growing to epic proportions (with a classy movie poster reference), I gotta say she really lets her imagination get the best of her. The last scene is really where it’s at, when Yutaka pops another innocent question to Hiyori: “What’s yaoi?” Hoho, wonder how she got out of that one.

Akira acts all giddy inside while Shiraishi boasts his love for the outdoors and nature, but he eats his own words when Shiraishi is “kicked out” and is thrown on a trip to the forests near Mt. Fuji to collect the water for Akira. Ittekimasu, Shiraishi. Don’t get mauled.

Meanwhile, we’re treated to a nice sunset as the real Shiraishi sings a funky tune while Hiromi and Kaori blow bubbles. What’s with those weird toy gun noises though?

Hiyori’s trip/fall was the most hilarious thing in the entire episode. I can’t remember how many times I watched that scene over and over lol.
