Lucky☆Star - Lucky Channel OP + Insert CDs

OHA-LUCKY! Well everyone, it’s time for another review, or rather, reviews, on more LS CDs. Today we have the OP theme to the radio show Lucky Channel titled “Aimai Net Darling” plus two insert CDs: “Misoji Misaki” and “Kosutte! My Honey”
Lucky Channel OP Theme - Aimai Net Darling
Aimai Net Darling
The first thing to take note of is that the song is basically a vocal version for the Lucky Channel theme you can hear in the Lucky Channel segments after each episode of the regular show. A lively, upbeat tune, cute lyrics, and with a jazzy theme to it. Very awesome actually. Konno Hiromi has a great voice and delivers well. Shiraishi can be heard as backup vocals and hearing him sing along is a plus. A little talk between the two can be heard before the chorus, Akira dumbfounded by Shiraishi. There they go again at the end too. Wonder what Akira needed to talk to Shiraishi about. Good to know she’s still in character.

Konerabu Mission
Apparently short for “connection love mission” or something to that effect, it’s another jazz track but with a much slower tempo. Still, it’s got a lively atmosphere and the vocals are more balanced as the duo sing in tune. Some secret message they’re trying to convey? Dunno why, but it sounds like a song fitting for a brewery, or a jazz club works fine too. They end the song appropriately by introducing themselves and shouting out “Bye ni!”

Pretty good single, though probably something I’d listen to on occasion. Nice rhythm and beat. Worth the listen.
Insert CD - Misoji Misaki
Misoji Misaki performed by Kogami Akira (Konno Hiromi)
So here’s the song that was used for the ED theme in Episode 16, and the song Akira sings at her “concert.” As I mentioned before, it sounds very much like enka, which is a type of music that relates to depression, solitude, love, hardships, etc. Yeah, it sounds kinda like emo, but this is in a more traditional sense, and more formal, nothing modern… well unless you’re Jero. In any case, I don’t think I need to explain further than I did when I reviewed it for Episode 16.

Yume Musubi no Ame performed by Kogami Akira (Konno Hiromi)
Another enka song, but this time it sounds more cheerful. Well, she’s not stressing her voice out like Misoji Misaki, but you know. So just what is she singing about? Actually I have no idea, but judging from the title, it’s about dreams and rain… probably something fulfilling and resourceful.

After this, you gotta wonder if Hiromi will start a career in enka. They sound good, but enka’s not really my type. Sing more songs like Aimai Net Darling and we’re good to go!
Insert CD - Kosutte! My Honey
Kosutte! My Honey! performed by Konata (Hirano Aya) and Patty (Sasaki Nozomi)
So this is the CD the girls made, seen in Episode 16. What a title. Basically like the theme song to their costume café. Cosplaying for the customers. It’s interesting hearing these two sing together because it sounded a bit amateurish, but funny at the same time. Loved hearing the Goshuujin-sama, okaeri nasai mase!

Yuuchou Sentai Dararanger performed by Konata (Hirano Aya) and Patty (Sasaki Nozomi)
Now here’s a song that I wanna hear. It totally trumps the first song by a mile. A parody of tokusatsu, or more specifically, the Super Sentai series, a favorite of mine. Indeed, it has that tokusatsu feel to it and it’s so fitting for Konata, as we’ve heard her sing those types of songs twice before.

Mix and matched tracks, but interesting nonetheless. Oh My Honey is a cute song, but Dararanger is just so much more amazing in comparison.
Well that’s all for now! Up next: Motteke Remix!
