Kita ze Inbou! - キタぜ陰謀!

Lucky☆Star ep. 14

[ Episode 14: Under One Roof ]

Final answer? YES FINAL ANSWER!

Yutaka finally makes her debut appearance! This episode was actually rather family-oriented. We got to see a glimpse of each girls with their own family. The Izumi residence took most of the spotlight here just for Yutaka, and it’s a pretty strong light.

Before she got admitted into Ryouou High, we backtrack a bit to after Yutaka took her exam and where she first met her best friend, Iwasaki Minami. Thing is, Yutaka forgot to ask what her name was before leaving her with a handkerchief. Based on first impressions, she’s like a mix between Tsukasa and Miyuki with a little bit of her own personality in there. Konata already sees her as a perfect pillar of moéness. Seeing Yutaka amazed by Konata in just about everything was great. I think she gives Konata way too much credit for everything, praising her every time.

Veering off the Izumi side, Kagami and Miyuki (actually hanging out alone together) talked about caller ID and avoiding unwanted calls. I can totally relate here. Lately all I’ve been getting are annoying rings on the phone. Makes me want to really leave. Anyways, we got to see Miyuki’s mother Yukari again. A bit of a goofball, but as charming as Miyuki can be too. Talking over an our with a telemarketer? She must’ve been extremely bored. She knows how to make conversation though.

The Hiiragi family has got to be my favorite family though. Being together and watching the Japanese equivalent to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? was damn hilarious. You know how these shows always build suspense for you, especially if you’re as intimidating as Regis. I just love how Tsukasa looked at the clock to determine the fate of the contestant. That’s actually a key in finding out things like that, but I was kinda surprised to learn that Tsukasa actually does that. Maybe I underestimated her.

The end was another great moment, as there’s a little rundown on Yui by Konata. She’s a really crazed driver, and seeing some punk pass by her ain’t gonna fly with her. Getting hammered and showing up at the house all playfully and drunk is pretty bad morale for a cop too. And of course, telling Konata to just wing anything if she can’t understand her homework… +1 for you Yui for the laughs.

In this Lucky Channel, Akira is not amused at the outcome of the episode. While we did hear her voice (Final Answer girl), she made no physical on-screen appearance, which I think, not being in there at all is more worth it. I can understand her but she’s just so crazy this time and almost makes Shiraishi cry, or at least that’s how I saw it, haha.

Shiraishi lightens the mood up (or worsens) by performing some fighting game input command moves while singing Hare Hare Yukai. Um… okay, I think I would’ve liked the Hare Hare Yukai dance instead. And at the sea again?
