Kita ze Inbou! - キタぜ陰謀!

Lucky☆Star ep. 11

[ Episode 11: Various Ways to Spend Xmas Eve ]

No!

Yes~

I never would have thought they’d actually start the episode off by discussing something the previous episode beforehand. They really can talk about anything and everything, even why the excuse “five more minutes” uses “five minutes” as a good time interval. Miyuki displays more knowledge once more by briefly describing shooting stars. Being a bookworm, it’s no wonder why she knows and understands most things.

Perhaps the most intriguing discussion they had this episode was about the fabled Santa Claus. Yeah, I’m pretty sure we’ve all been there before. Can’t exactly recall the last time I believed in a fat guy in red clearly in need of a real job but it’s been a while. Not to be a real Miyuki here but there was this really long (and ironically funny) explanation on how the jolly man is physically and logically impossible to exist. The part about spontaneously combusting makes it so. By the way, hearing her escape from the dentist by making excuses sounded so unlike her, it’s practically crazy. Miyuki’s a bold one.

When it comes to riding the trains, they make a really good point about seats. During my summer trip, my friends and I unanimously concluded that sitting in those wonderfully warm and comfy seats made us sleepy as hell, the shinkansen especially. We tried to be real troopers so we usually just stood up and just hold on to the geometric hand straps above us. I never had the trouble of missing stops due to sleep before. Sounds reasonable to have it happen once to Konata but the second time around? I’m guessing she got it from her dad, who also had that problem. Not much different from Miyuki’s bus dilemma but it’s no stretch.

The study time discussion left me chuckling too. Both Kagami and Konata studied for four hours, too little for Kagami, a lot for Konata. Ain’t that a coincidence. On that matter of Kagami, she’s damn popular from the looks of it, not just in her class but even in Tsukasa’s and the others. Big name you got there, Kagamin. Kagami’s regular Misao makes her first appearance too! Oi, Hiiragi! This is also the second time Ayano appears as well, this time with actual words. Did you see Shiraishi making a move on her with that handkerchief? Dondake…

Not much else running this episode, but there were some subtle mentions of Yutaka, who has yet to appear in the actual show until later.

The best part about this episode was the ending with the static phases. I never heard of getting easily shocked during winter but that sounds scary. While Soujirou plays with static as Kamen Rider, I was more amused by Kagami going “No!” followed by Konata’s driveled “yes~” like it was nothing. Nicely done! The last best thing was when Kagami and Tsukasa’s hands intercepted the static giving both of them some electrical feedback to each other. Itai! itai! itai! itai! itai!

Akira totally ignored Shiraishi in LC, but I think she’s just getting more aggravated seeing him in the show. Even brief appearances frustrates her and she totally can’t wait to show up in the next episode… or will she?

So the girls sing Doraemon no Uta for karaoke. Nice choice of song there. I never actually watched a full Doraemon episode but it seemed funny when I saw it. A real classic, isn’t that still going on today? For the episode preview, Tsukasa STILL couldn’t finish talking even with all that extended time. Do your best for next time, Tsukasa!
