[ Episode 09: That Feeling ]

More tamer than the past episodes, I still enjoyed each bit of it. Konata’s bad studying habits led her to stop and go gaming. Much to her dismay, Kuroi-sensei yet again bothers Konata online about finishing her homework. Man, that never fails to get me. Even when she’s on a break, she still can’t get away from school. On the Hiiragis’ side, the girls spend at least two hours of study time. There’s some devotion and effort right there, all for Tsukasa too. Gotta hand it to her. Even though she made better marks on her test, she still didn’t beat Kagami, who scored lower than usual. I guess it happens sometimes.

After the test’s all said and done the girls hang out in library and discuss about personalities and how it relates to one another. Some nice new little info about Kagami that has come to light: she loves shooter games. I wonder what kinds she likes. My favorites are the top-down shooters. Anyhow, they discuss a bit on blood types, which is pretty prominent information in Japan. I can’t tell what mine is but I’ll find out one day… if I care. Going off that course, Miyuki also says there are even animal and sushi horoscopes. Sushi horoscopes? That definitely entertained me, especially after Konata found out she was the gari type. “Gari tte!!!” Oh god, Emiri makes me smile all the time. It might just be me but it looked like Kagami and Konata swapped places for a bit. Kagami made a sneer remark and the next scene we see Konata with Pocky in her mouth.

Since tests were over, the girls decide to watch a movie, apparently Saw III (blah). I noticed, the twins always seem to wear the same set for the same clothes, huh. Well anyways, Konata taking advantage of her height (for once) was laughable.

Amazingly, they have the stomach to eat after that, and they had a lot to eat. I’ve heard of buffets like this and the whole extra fee for leftovers, which sounds painful. They certainly stuffed themselves good, but I doubt they finished the leftovers. Kagami, watch our for your weight. After this episode, Kujira’s voice is getting a little freaky.

Miyuki actually playing Solitaire and Minesweeper was interesting to hear. Beating it with a record score is even more interesting, and impressive as hell. Goes to show that even the simplest of games can be so addicting. Another side of Miyuki that I liked this episode was when she had Konata put her eyedrops in for her. I’d be scared of Konata’s face too but I couldn’t help laughing at Miyuki’s frightened expression.

On Lucky Channel, Tsukasa is poorly introduced, with Akira making a quick reference to ToHeart due to similarities while Shiraishi tries to block it out with his legendary love song. Akira seemed less grouchy than usual but then again, hitting Shiraishi with an ashtray full of cigarette butts was awful.

Karaoke time and Konata is up again while the girls look through the catalog. Similar to Sore ga Ai Desho?, her version of Kogarashi no Idakarete sounds just beautiful. The preview was really something to. Obviously, Konata talks about the “infinite lives” trick in SMB. Nice reference there. Next episode, Tsukasa gets a new cell phone! Expect chaos to ensue.
