CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 19

[ Turn 19: Betrayal ]

Sayonara, Rolo. Yup. Rolo is dead. I didn’t think that he’d go out protecting Lelouch from both Britannia and the Black Knights though. While others might say he redeemed himself and other such sentences with the word “respect” in them, him being Shirley’s murderer is still fresh in my mind so…yeah…I don’t really know what to say in that regard. At least he saved Lelouch from the OBK traitors. Speaking of which, I held my head throughout the entire discussion Schneizel had with Todou and the others. I just couldn’t bring myself to process how they were so easily believing everything Schneizel was telling them. Don’t get me started on Ogi. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t give a damn about the OBK anymore than Nina does. He may as well just go and play around with Villetta.

Best. Proposal. Ever.
LMFAO. That’s what I’m talking about. It’s been a week since this new title from the great Death Note creator duo and it’s so fresh, I absolutely love it. The first chapter was really great in my eyes. Read more

[ Turn 18: The 2nd Decisive Battle of Tokyo ]

Is “HOLY F*CKING SH*T” too explicit? Hmm. Yeah it is, but that doesn’t stop it from being an appropriate reaction when it comes to this episode. I mean, seriously, Nunnally? Sayoko? Both dead? WHAT? It seems like it. Or are they? I still can’t bring myself to believe it after being stunned for at least a half hour or more after having seen the episode. Actually, I’m still stunned and struggling to be coherent while I write. I just can’t bring myself to believe that Nunnally or Sayoko are dead. That said, I have thought of the possibility of Sayoko using her abilities to ninja both her and Nunnally away from the explosion. It makes more sense than anything else happening…those being someone with a teleportation Geass or Charles somehow doing something. Speaking of which, why the hell has he come to Japan?

[ Turn 17: The taste of earth]

Heh. I’m not surprised that Lelouch and Suzaku’s meeting turned sour. I was waiting for the whole thing to fall apart since the very start to be honest. Well, unless something happens at the very end, this seems like it’ll be the last falling out those two will have. Lelouch seemed to be really hurt by the betrayal, even though it wasn’t Suzaku’s fault. What happened after that was freaking hilarious though, with Guilford saving Lelouch because he was Geass’d to think that Lelouch is Cornelia (with a certain pose). I guess that is a potential death flag for him.

Haha. It’s pretty awkward trying to adjust to the new C.C. She’s just so…innocent. Not only that but the scar that was under her left breast is now gone. What could that possibly mean? Also, Suzaku got his ass KICKED by Kallen so good. I was almost rolling in my chair at how hilarious that was. She should have given him a super uppercut. I’m still wondering when she is going to be rescued though. The next episode would be a good time for her to return to the OBK but it probably won’t happen. This episode also shot up some potential death flags. Chiba might go down since she admitted to Toudou that she has something to tell him after the war is over. Uh oh. Lloyd also told Nina that she may die for trying to get Suzaku to use her WMD on the Japanese. Or maybe he was just trying to make a point. Who knows for sure? Though it wouldn’t be surprising if she did die, I think…

[ Turn 15: World of C]

This episode sort of damaged my brain. There was so much things inside that I had to pause a few times to digest it all. The main highlight of this episode was definitely C.C. though. We’re shown a lot of her past such as how she came to be who she is now and that she once possessed Geass. I didn’t see the whole replacement thing coming though. It is interesting that it seems as if she does not wish for Lelouch to replace her. Is that evidence that perhaps she has discovered that love she could never find in her past? Perhaps, but things took a twist that was pretty hilarious despite the serious mood at the end. That is, C.C. reverting to an extremely shy and servant-like girl. Oh boy, Lelouch is going to have his trouble laid out for him.

I’m surprised that Rolo didn’t die in this episode. Lelouch had so many chances to off him but he managed to survive. Lelouch better hope that his survival doesn’t cause any problems for him in the future. A lot of people died in this episode due to Lelouch’s plan to wipe out the Geass cult. We even get to see some of the Black Knights question if what they’re doing is really right. If more things like this happen then there might be a disturbance within the OBK , especially now that Sayoko will be observing Ougi’s suspicious behavior.

First thing’s first. F*CK you Rollo. Seriously, why the hell did he kill Shirley? Just because she mentioned Nunnally? I can’t begin to imagine what sort of repercussions he’ll suffer because of this in the future. Well, that is if it is found out that he was the one responsible for her death. Lelouch is pretty damn devastated as expected. It doesn’t help that the past few episodes focused on him and Shirley getting closer and even admitting feelings for each other. What kind of emotional impact will Shirley’s death have on his actions from now on? What will he do when he eventually finds out that Rollo is responsible for her death? Hopefully these answers come sooner rather than later.

[ Turn 12: Love Attack!]
![]()
This turned out to be more than a simple “Ashford episode”. Granted I still enjoyed the silliness, especially seeing Lelouch/Sayoko run around for their livelihood. The second biggest thing to happen was the revelation of Orange’s “Geass Canceller”. How convenient! How did that thing even get made?! Well, whatever the case, Shirley has now been de-Geassed and has regained all of her memories. I can only begin to imagine what problems this will spring up. So what’s the first biggest thing to happen in this episode you ask? Why, the return of Cornelia of course! She looks even more lovely than she was one year ago and I love the way her hair looks now. I’m quite interested in finding out what she’s been doing since the end of the first season.

[ Turn 11: Power of the Mind]

This was a more-than-satisfying climax to what has been an amazing arc. First off, I was thrown off entirely by finding out Sayoko was acting as Lelouch. She’s really good and will most likely be his cover for the rest of the show. I was puzzled at the scene between C.C. and Anya as well. There wasn’t any explanation given as to why they both freaked out like they did so I hope that’s at least alluded to in the upcoming episodes. It looks like we’ll be getting into more detail about the cult that C.C. once lead. It’ll be interesting to see how Lelouch comes to find it and what he does there.
