Second chapter is over 20 pages? Goodness gracious, how awesome is this? So it’s only just started but we’re first getting a look at our three stars here. Shujin (I’ll just call him Shujin from now on) has an interesting view on Azuki and Moritaka. It’s funny how those two see each other as being so smart and stuff. It’s a strange philosophy but knowing where this is coming from it’s not all too surprising. I really loved the scene where the two were heading to the nurse’s room and Azuki was wondering if she should’ve done the same. Even in the nurse’s room it was pretty funny how they were conversing.

So it looks like we’ll be seeing the studio next chapter. My guesses are that it’s like a pigsty or something. Let’s see some more development!

That chapter was worth the long wait. Though some may say hardly anything happened, I’d be inclined to disagree. There was a lot of movement here character-wise, particularly with Mashiro and Akito. Akito’s analysis of Mashiro, Azumi, and himself was something else. According to him, they are the top three smartest in their class and he puts the former two ahead of himself. Interesting. I liked the way that he said he thought that studying or good grades doesn’t equal intelligence as well as how a person can be stupid even if they have high grades. It’s a point of view that I’ve thought about countless times and I can’t help but agree with him.

Mashiro also managed to get past his parents (or rather his mother anyway) in his quest to become a mangaka. The sweetest thing he got out of the deal, of course, has to be netting the keys to his late uncle’s studio. With that in his possession now I’m thinking the only thing they have to focus on now is coming up with a story and characters. Though, I have a feeling it probably won’t be as simple as that.

Oh yeah, there wasn’t that much of Azumi but she still got some page-time thanks to Mashiro’s pining. It doesn’t seem too likely at the moment but I’m still hoping that she and Mashiro get closer bit by bit as their dreams begin to take shape.
