CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 19

[ Turn 19: Betrayal ]

Sayonara, Rolo. Yup. Rolo is dead. I didn’t think that he’d go out protecting Lelouch from both Britannia and the Black Knights though. While others might say he redeemed himself and other such sentences with the word “respect” in them, him being Shirley’s murderer is still fresh in my mind so…yeah…I don’t really know what to say in that regard. At least he saved Lelouch from the OBK traitors. Speaking of which, I held my head throughout the entire discussion Schneizel had with Todou and the others. I just couldn’t bring myself to process how they were so easily believing everything Schneizel was telling them. Don’t get me started on Ogi. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t give a damn about the OBK anymore than Nina does. He may as well just go and play around with Villetta.

Nina, I think, needs to be gun-butted or something. Did she REALLY think that her bomb would kill just ONE person? I mean seriously, did she REALLY think something like that wouldn’t kill off millions? There’s a limit to how stupid you can pretend to be and she broke it at least tenfold in this episode. Suzaku has gone insane. Did you hear that laugh? That’s the laugh of a madman. I guess killing Nunnally and millions of others just totally bricked his brain as he was trying to make sense of it all. After that, there’s no telling what he’s going to do next. Will he remain in the Rounds? What about Anya and Gino? I’d say those two have some chance of leaving the Rounds as well, especially Anya since she was Geassed by the Emperor for some reason which might push her to rebel.

The only people I can see coming to Lelouch’s aid now is Kallen, Jeremiah, and C.C.. Xing-ke is a possibility since he’s ties with the now Zero-less OBK will probably be broken due to their “we’ll give Zero up but you give us Japan back and we’ll surrender” deal. As of the current situation, I can’t see how he can regain his Black Knights or even gain new ones. Pretty much everyone is looking for him and his Geass is also known now. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens from now on that’s for sure.

Also, it really seems as if Nunnally and Sayoko are gone. Dammit SUNRISE! What did you do?! Bring them back ASAP!

Hah, talk about turnabouts. No, it’s not the victorious ones you win in court. It’s quite opposite, and for Lelouch, he was unfortunately caught in the mix. The nuke seemed to have affected the survivors hard, emotionally and mentally speaking. Lelouch was still in complete denial and broke down and things got from worse to beyond-worse.

So Schneizel just pops up out of nowhere (what balls) and Kishidan doesn’t nothing but listen to his words? You realize that negotiating with the enemy gets you nowhere. Yes, Ohgi, you’re hella gonna get back Japan through just demanding for it. Had it been that easy, none of this would have happened. But it did, and Lelouch’s army betrayed him thanks to Schneizel’s “influence” of his own.

I’ll admit, Rolo’s rescue was pretty damn sad and a moving scene. Excessive gas, sorry, Geass usage was definitely hardcore. He didn’t go without a cause though as he just saved Lelouch from damnation and gave him some glimmer of hope. He still got some aides, I’m sure, he can’t go at it alone. I think Kallen and perhaps Tamaki realize that. It was sad to see Tamaki and Diethard persuaded. Check indeed. Good show, Schneizel.

Best scenes in this episode:
Suzaku’s maniacal laugh
Kallen’s misunderstanding
