[ Episode 1: One Plus One ]

And here’s the second show I plan on blogging this season: Birdy the Mighty Decode. This is one of my most anticipated shows of the 2008 summer season and, almost needless to say, I really loved the premiere!

The introduction of Birdy is instantaneous and we get to see just how much ass she can kick and just how much monstrous power she possesses. I love her design and her attitude/personality gets an infinite amount of approval stars from me. She’s just the kind of female lead I love to watch and I’ll enjoy seeing her every episode. Her seiyuu, Chiba Saeko, fits Birdy perfectly in my opinion which really comes as no surprise seeing that she has done the voices of Natsuki (Mai HiME) and Akira (Reideen 2007). Both of which I feel are two of her strongest roles. I’m not sold on Senkawa yet but I suppose he’s an okay guy. Though, it’ll be interesting to see how he develops though since he’s pretty much dead and only able to live because of Birdy. The OP theme indicates that a lot more characters are going to be introduced so I’m sure things are going to get more interesting and diverse from now on.

The OP and ED were really good and are yet another two singles I’ll be anticipating. I particularly like the ED theme since it’s been ages that I have heard anything from Afromania. I can see myself slowly getting addicted to “Let’s go together” if I listen to it enough times. Hearts Grow is really doing great since I last heard them as well. “Sora” is a more-than-fitting opening tune to a series such as this. The background stuff is pleasant and I especially love the tunes that played during the action scenes.

Speaking of action, the choreography was really good! Birdy looked so gracefully doing what she does best thanks to the wonderful animation. It looks like the creators weren’t holding anything back and I hope that the quality stays consistent throughout its 13-episode run.

Due to the crappy title, I thought this was gonna suck. It’s totally different from what I thought. I’m going to give it a shot.

Interesting… really intresting. I’m going to watch it.

    BTW:
Could you PLEASE do something about the navigation of the site? It is a pain in the ass to look for old posts or completed blogs. I, in fact, can find neither of them.

    LOL!!!

Through two episodes the battle animation has remained high, so I’m hopeful as well!
