CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ep. 5

[ Turn 05: Knight of Rounds ]

Good lord have mercy. Viletta-sensei!!!!!!

Oh. My. God. This episode was killer. From what seems to be school-fun centered episode, there was a lot of intense scenes throughout it. Seeing Lelouch and Suzaku meet again was beyond awkward, especially since I thought they would go at each other’s throats at the drop of a pin. Man, it must be super difficult to pretend to still have fake memories. Lelouch is definitely a trooper in that regard because my urge to strangle Suzaku would have been powerful. I think it would have increased a thousand-fold after the revelation at the end of the episode. That is, Nunnally being the new Governor General of Area 11. That bastard used her as a trap. Oh, I can’t wait to see what Lelouch has up his sleeve in the future to get back at him for this, regardless of whether or not this plan was all his or Charles’.

Still, the trap was well-made and now Lelouch is in a tough-spot I don’t think I’d ever want to be in. Thankfully he turned away from Suzaku so he couldn’t see his reaction to hearing Nunnally’s voice. Still, the major problem here is how he is going to respond to her. If he speaks to her as if he knows her then it becomes a dead giveaway that his memories have returned. On the other hand if he pretends not to know her I think that would seriously worry her beyond what I can imagine and I don’t think Lelouch would want to do that. Sadly, I don’t think he has any other option but the latter. I have no idea what he’s going to do but I’m looking forward to seeing how he’ll manage to save her from all of this.

It looks like Villetta will be officially working for Zero/Lelouch now that Lelouch has revealed himself to her and pointed out her relationship with Ougi. Yup. Good ol’ blackmail never fails. Still though, I hope he’s careful especially with Rolo apparently still a tad unstable. Villetta probably won’t be much of a problem because her status is at stake as well as her relationship with Ougi. Ougi would be enough to keep her in line if needed.

This episode showcases yet another school event, reminiscent to episode 21 of the original, which means what exactly? More KFs making giant pizza. It amazes me to no end how C.C. is always showing up with impeccable timing, much to Lelouch’s dismay. It seems throughout the entire episode he was simply avoiding everyone.

The KoR (Gino, Anya, Suzaku) show up as well having some fun on their own, though it looks like Suzaku had plans of his own when he pulled a rather clever ruse on Lelou. I gotta say, that’s one of the most suspenseful cliffhangers I’ve seen since the finale and it just makes me cringe. How in the hell is Lelouch gonna get out of this one? Well, let’s say it won’t be so surprising. If he got himself out of a jam with Rolo before, he can certainly do the same this time… yes? It could be a little bit more tricky though.
