I laughed quite a few times during this episode. The whole conflict between Naruto and Fuuka had me glued to the screen because I didn’t know if she wanted to kill Naruto or make-out with him raw and uncensored. If I had a choice I’d go with the latter option, of course. Hell, we even got to see a glimpse of Naruto’s old trickster days when he let her kiss one of his clones and then proceeded to taunt her with more clones. Of course, pissing her off led to her showing some of her real power which is pretty interesting since she seems to have all (or almost all) of the elements at her disposal.

Hmm. Nothing much really happened in this episode outside of Luri getting attacked again. Well, there was a lesson to be learned I suppose, at least for Luri. At least she made it known that she isn’t exactly ignorant of the things that go on around her. The assassin this time around was sort of capable but still pretty useless. Ken was just as useless and showed what is possibly the gayest zanpakutou release in all of Bleach. Bleh. Anyway, I’m guessing the only assassin that’ll actually impress is the guy in the OP and who appeared at the end of the episode. I hope things start developing more quickly though and it looks like that just might happen next week with what seems to be a return to Soul Society.

Another lovely episode of Shippuuden. I can’t stress how much I’ve been enjoying these episodes over the canon stuff. Perhaps it’s because this arc is more reminiscent of the old missions of Part 1 which Part 2 has seriously been lacking. The original antagonists aren’t lame in design or techniques either compared to those of the past. They placed quite a bit of effort into these guys. Their techniques are pretty damn sweet. You’ve got one guy who draws (apparently) geographical maps and another who can make those maps come to life. Fuuka, the lady of the group can apparently move through solid matter if the preview is any indication though it might be that she can just move through Earth/Rock.

Oh oh! I SO called it! In my last SC post I expressed how I wanted O!G to be the next mangaka to create a character for SCIV and boy did my dreams come true! The newest character added to the roster is Ashlotte. The only tidbits available so far is that she is a robot of sorts and is out to execute Astaroth. I hope she succeeds because I never liked that guy to begin with anyways. Ashlotte’s design is quite exquisite and tantalizing to the eyes of those who love complex dresses and beautiful hair designs. I’m not really surprised that O!G drew her the way he did since he does have a few petite characters in his Tenjo Tenge and Air Gear manga. She’s looking pretty damn strong too with that battle axe in hand. I’m pretty sure that thing ways at least two or three times what she does. I have to wonder now, is this the last character to be created by a Japanese artist? Or is there still more to come? I can’t imagine who would be next if there was. Kubo Tite? Oda?

Ah, so Raimei has a grudge against her older brother. What’s up with these siblings who somehow always end up killing their parents which eventually pisses off their (usually) younger sibling? Anyway, I’d really like to hear this guy’s reasoning for what he did. I hope it isn’t some BS about him wanting to test the limits of his power or something similar. A certain other ninja claimed that very same thing one time ago and it ended up being something completely different *cough*. I didn’t expect to see that lousy ninja (Yamase or something?) again and really thought that he was going to die in this episode but he lives yet one more day. He better die sooner or later because he’s just friggin’ annoying.

Tokyo Marble Chocolate is an interesting OVA. It chronicles the life of a young couple and their love from both of their perspectives each titled Zenryoku Shounen (boy part) and Mata Aimashou (girl part).
I found Tokyo Marble Chocolate to be a really neat romance story that held my interest from beginning to end (for both parts). The characters, Chizuru and Yuudai, are some of the best I’ve seen in recent times. They’re perfect characters because they are imperfect, especially Yuudai who is afraid of heights and apparently dogs (I won’t laugh at the former but the latter…LOL). Chizuru flaws come in the form of her being indecisive and being, I think, self-esteem issues. Both of their past relationships were pretty much filled with hiccups and, to me, were quite hilarious. Yuudai had a girlfriend who kicked the asses of some thugs with extreme prejudice and Chizuru accidentally knocked out one of her former boyfriend’s mother and [drunkenly] beat the hell out of another at a restaurant. That last one was especially hilarious to me because it started out as light hitting, then light slapping, and then full on wailing! Obviously, she’s not someone you want drunk.

Things are going to get even more intense after this episode. The race is on between the Fuuma clan and Kairoushuu to see who will be the first to remove Shinra Banshou from Miharu. Of course, in regard to the Fuuma, Kotaru is going to research a safe way to remove it from him. As for the opposition, I don’t think they can care less what happens to Miharu as long as they get Shinra Banshou. For either of them to find a way to do it, they must collect the secret art books of the other hidden villages. I think this pretty much ensures that Miharu will encounter Yoite again in the future. I’m still wondering though, when is Miharu going to show off some skills? Does he know any ninjutsu and such at all? He makes it seem like he doesn’t know anything but could be just be bluffing because he doesn’t want to do anything? Whatever the case, I really want to see him in some action soon even if it’s just punching someone in the face in an entire episode.
