NARUTO: Shippuuden ep. 55

[ Episode 55: Wind ]

This episode focused heavily on the explanation of chakra shape manipulation and chakra natures. I recall the first time I read the chapter with this information and I had the biggest “WHAT?” expression on my face. It wasn’t because I didn’t understand what was being said but rather I was wondering where the hell it all came from all of a sudden. Still even if Kishimoto did come up with it all in part 2 or from the very beginning, I still find it to be quite creative. I especially like how new natures are created with the combination of two of the basic elements (which creates Bloodline Limits). One thought that I had throughout the episode was that it Naruto is really dense lol. I mean seriously, none of what Kakashi was saying was that difficult to follow but I suppose we all learn at our own paces.
Anyway, it looks as if Naruto will complete his training in the next episode and the original arc will also be kicking off with the invasion/raid of some town. Some may be dreading it but I’m looking forward to seeing what the writers will do with this new original arc and its respective new characters.

With all that spring madness I forgot Naruto was still there. This episode, like the one that preceded it, was surprisingly good. It appears even since they changed themes and screen display it only improves. This episode reminded me more of the classic days of Naruto, mainly the training scenes. This episode was all about training, and while it sounds boring, it was surprisingly informative to understand the origin of the Gekkei Genkai.
Now here comes the funny part, nothing else really happened in this episode. It was neither action-packed nor funny and the pace was rather slow, so why am I content? It was simply an interesting episode that had the smartest script Naruto Shippuuden has ever had, and after the last arc, I needed some down to earth explanations to sort all of the nonsense and bee keeping.
Fillers are around the corner and they’ll probably last until September if anything, but I heard from many the manga is crap and the lead filler character looks rather mysterious for one so I won’t criticize it that much.
8/10

8/10? I guess I should watch this now …
I agree with Blade, this felt like watching the classic Naruto episodes. So um, did they contradict the entire first movie with the Snow Ninja then? You know, since they use ICE and all, unless we’re now suppose to believe they all have the Kekkei Genkai.
the manga isnt crap…but i guess i’m only one of few who isnt bothered by sasuke and logic
I don’t think Sasuke and the word “logic” go together.
@Youko: Quite frankly I don’t understand the snow ninja’s concept… oh well, I don’t treat that movie as canon anyways.
Its a ripe off of hunter x hunter battle system
@Leon & Blade
Hey i think this website is pretty awsome. This is my first time on this website, I really like anime i “print” out anime pictures. But for some reason i can’t print out the anime pictures you have here, because on some anime websites like “memento” (another anime website) I can’t click the picture on this website when you click the picture at the website “memento” the picture goes bigger. Can you please fix the picture thing, It will be a really nice if you did that. (thanks)
@*Great-Fan-Of-Anime*: See, the thing is, the images are six in one instead of individual images. As a result, these aren’t supposed to be clickable images that link to a larger screencap.
Though its great that they are moving on, and that Naruto will learn something new (hopefully) this will probably take a while. Training is unavoidable but I don’t like it when the progress to completion is extremely slow, I’d prefer the character just develop through events that occur within the main plot stream. There aren’t that many episodes shown in a year since its released once a week, so it might take a while.
[...] You mean that’s been done before? RX: Ummmm..yeah. NO: Damnit. Kakashi told me that was my new move too. RX: [...]
