Final Fantasy IV DS coming this July

![]()
This is some of the best news I’ve seen recently. I’ve already mentioned being a huge RPG fan before and Final Fantasy is one of my main loves. FFIV was one of the very best installments I’ve played and had such a deep and engaging story with equally intriguing characters that made you care for them. This remake is one of the most anticipate for me as I always wanted a portable version of the game and I didn’t get to grab the GBA version. It seems like my waiting will pay off since this remake will have all-new CG cutscenes, a new Augment system that allows you to assign special abilities to Rydia, Cecil, Rosa and co., and a remixed version of Uematsu Nobou’s superb original score for the game! Personally I can’t wait to see Rydia in the CGs.
The game is due out on July 22nd and the wait couldn’t be more painful and joyful all at the same time. The press release is after the jump.

Hell yes! I think I shall pre-order this.
I was actually expecting to a fall release. Not bad.
I’m having a hard time thinking of what I’d like them to elaborate on as far as the story or characters go.
Also, BLASPHEMY! Cid is missing from that picture! And they put in the Spoony Bard, but no Tellah? No Country For Old Men indeed.
Never used Cid in my party lol.
Yay for the next FF. Nay for it being on DS. I stopped liking handheld consoles for a while now. But tell me how you like it and such ^^
Leon, I don’t think you had a choice whether you used him or not. FIV gave you the party the story needed you to have. You couldn’t swap someone out if you wanted to.
I meant to say “used his much”, I think. Even though he was in the party I don’t remember using his commands as much as the others.
There’s a reason for that; Cid’s only command was “Peep”. He could check an enemy’s Hp and nothing else. His hammer was pretty powerful (usually had some elemental property) though, if you could afford arming him after everyone else.
Ah yes, that’s most likely why.
Damn. Now I feel like popping in my PSOne copy and playing till morning.
I still need to beat my PS1 copy! But awesome news indeed. Remixed boss fight music it must be awesome.
Main problem I had with III is the lack of save spots, which made it more frustrating than hard, hopefully they are able to fix this.
Save spots? You are meant to play it through in one sitting and without making mistakes!
Any screenshots?
I loved all the FF games on the NDS, except for FF3 of course. This will be something nice, can’t wait.
So, how is it, Leon?
