KimiAru ~They Are My Noble Masters~ - ep. 10

[ Episode 10: Reversal! Natose has come! ]

Chiharu’s broom powers are not enough.

Last episode we learned tha… actually scratch that, we already know that Shinra gives much more attention to Miyu. As a result, Yume is feeling depressed and she wants to do something about it. When she asks Shinra why she doesn’t give her any attention, she says she didn’t mean to because of what happened in their parents’ funeral. Yume doesn’t remember and Shinra shuns her away out of anger. Yume runs away to the cold streets until Ren and Natose find her. After they chat, Yume remembers what happened, she apologize to Shinra and all well that ends well.
Now see what’s wrong here? This is the second episode in a row that nothing major happened. I have to say though it is nice to know more about the past of the Kuonji family and the notion of Shinra’s lack of any emotion. That plot device notwithstanding, I had an entire feel of dissatisfaction. It was another Yume episode and it had the same plot: being ignored. This episode, however, takes a more serious approach and although it works, we had enough of Yume by now. To be frank, if any sister, it’s Shinra that’s deserved her own episode. Sure this episode revealed more about her personality, but it’s not enough.
What’s even more infuriating is they crammed in Natose’s past in the last minute amidst Yume’s struggle. We already established that Natose is my favorite character in the show, but her background was told in such an abrupt way, there was no reason to. It’s like the episode didn’t know if it wanted to be a Natose episode or a sister struggle episode. I think that the last episode combined with Yume’s being left out story can be fit in one episode, whereas episode 10 could’ve been a full fledged episode. Seriously, look at the pictures! She lost her eye in a tsunami! Don’t you even wonder how she became badass? I know I do!
All in all, it was a better episode than the last one, but because of pacing problems, not by much.
6/10
