Kita ze Inbou! - キタぜ陰謀!

Shigofumi ep. 6

[ Episode 6: Scream ]

I actually never understood the concept of bullying. The bully always came across to me as a person with no life who is unable to vent their incompetencies like a decent person. The bullied I always found to be weak-willed. So in reality I think both parties are to blame for the situation though I hold the bully more accountable for being enough of a jackass to torture someone just because they feel like it. It’s because of my thinking that throughout this episode I was annoyed at pretty much all of involved characters. I’m aware that this kind of stuff happens frequently in Japan which is likely why this episode had some issues airing but honestly this kind of thing can be solved if someone actually spoke out about it. Screw that “ratting is horrible” nonsense, only fools would adhere to something as stupid as that. Sure, what happened at the end of the episode wasn’t exactly the most appropriate solution to such problems but I honestly, is it hard to see and understand why someone would resort to killing the person who is making their life a living hell? I don’t think so.

This was a rather interestingly new way to use the Shigofumi. As explained by Fumika, there are neither good nor bad Shigofumi; only honest ones. This time it was a letter honestly wanting the guy to feel his agony and his suffering in the same way he did from the bullying. Ouch. It’s kinda a controversial issue in Japan so it’s no wonder why there was some “setback” before airing. Although, this type of bullying seemed to be blown way out of proportion but I wouldn’t exactly know that, not being a Japanese student. Still, I don’t believe they’d actually go as far as something radical as an I-beam on the roof. At least he finally snapped at the end, but I think if he knew what he was doing he could’ve avoided the whole thing at all. Well this leaves one thing in mind for the viewers: Bullying is bad. Very bad. Now I feel like getting the Scholarship Edition for the Wii.
