Kimi Aru ~They Are My Noble Masters~ - ep. 7

[ Episode 7: The Kuonji Family is Annihilated?! The Visitor was Ageha-sama! ]

Love Hurts.

Despite all the ecchi and the sexual innuendo, there wasn’t really a love story going in KimiAru yet, as all girls seem to be either teasing Ren or just not interested. It changes when Kuki Ageha gets into the picture and changes… something. If you remember episode 4, she did state she is interested in Ren now, and oh boy she’s a lady of her word. What is interesting is that Kuki seems to think of Ren more than just a servant. It seems to be evolving quite nicely, but it’s early to say how it’s going to turn out.
The Kuonjis’ breakfast has been interrupted by a military platoon. It turns out Kuki Ageha is the one behind the operation and she announces that she’s going to stay in the Kuonji mansion. Taisa explains to everyone that in the middle of their training, Kojurou was injured during another lethal attack by his master. As a result, Kojurou is in the hospital and Kuki decided to stay over so she won’t be alone, and after bribing most of the members, she manages to get her way. Kuki decides to have Ren as her personal butler and Shinra agrees. Ren quickly learns afterwards how is it like to be Kuki’s personal as she displays violent action according to his actions. Despite her harsh rules, Ren and Kuki get along pretty quickly as she is attracted to his devotion. Another problem rises when a competitor to the Ageha company sends in thugs to “deal” with Kuki, but thanks to her godly abilities, she easily fends them off. During that time, Ren is astonished by the situation, as his life were about to end, not to mention he was not strong enough to protect Kuki. Even so, not only that Kuki appreciates him, but she also manage to nab a kiss.
This episode wasn’t all that funny, but it didn’t really needed to. All it did was to advance the plot and show a more romantic side to Ren. What I see as a problem in the show, is that Shinra stayed passive throughout the entire episode, and she is supposed to be the main character. This is episode 7 and I expected Shinra to have a more prominent role. Instead we have Kuki Ageha, a character that the only difference is her hobbies, has the same personality for the most part. She teases like Shinra, but in her own way. I say all this because I believe Kuki seems to be a much more interesting main character than Shinra is, and there is no real excuse now to say that Shinra is here for sheer fan-service. Yume even got her own episode before Shinra!
Rants aside, I just hope this episode will mark a nice story arc that will help the series develop a decent storyline towards the end.
7/10

I have to admit, I like Ageha far more than I like Shinra (and not just because Ren keeps catching eyefulls of her, but it does help). If I were in Ren’s shoes, going with Ageha is not a bad deal at all - at least the woman pays attention to him.
I agree, hence the reason I don’t understand why there are so many people who love Shinra -_-
