Kimi Aru ~They Are My Noble Masters~ – ep. 4

[ Episode 4: Kuonji Family Goes to the South ]

You guessed it, it’s the beach episode.

A romantic comedy like Kimi Aru won’t be complete without the oh-so cliched beach episode. Those episodes, as trite as they are, can be fun to watch mainly because you see most of the females in their swimsuits and lavish on their hot an… yeah…

Anyway, Ren has failed to serve a good tasting tea to Miyu, and as a result, Taisa convinces Shinra that as punishment, he’ll undergo training in the Butler’s Lair which is located on the South. The south is also known as a luxurious resort and the other members of the staff are getting excited about it, thus, Shinra decides it’s going to be a good opportunity for everyone to have some fun, and also let the viewers have some fun by watching bikini clad ladies, which I have no objections of such matter, dare I say so myself.

Besides the fan-service, I have to say the episode was okay. Nothing really spectacular happened, but at this point I have to say the cast of characters is starting to be more interesting. Miyu, at first, seemed like an intellectual loli that reminded me of Chiyo from Azumanga Daioh (an anime that many like but I am a little oblivious about it), but this episodes had many goofy scenes with her. That shows a certain humanity in the character which I really liked. Natose is also starting to form up as the cool older sister persona and to be honest, I think her breasts jiggle even more than Hato-nee, which by now is a support character by all means, as she doesn’t really add anything to the main plot. Shinra is still Shinra, I don’t like her so much compared to the other girls, but I don’t her, because she is Shinra.

For some reason, I like Kuki Ageha, which was introduced in episode 2. She hasn’t done anything major besides punching Kojurou, her personal butler, but this time she is actually involved in Ren’s training. Needless to say, this episode foreshadows a little what might happen later, or maybe the final episodes. Ren is starting to envision Kuki as Shinra, as she captivate him as much as she does, and Kuki, on the other hand, is impressed by Ren’s loyalness. That alone is a good enough reason to see how the connection between those two is going to help progressing the plot, and moreover, what Kojurou has to say about that.

What also is worthy of saying is that this is the first episode that ended with a cliffhanger, while I hate suspenses, I have to give the writers credit for actually making it climatic. It was a good ending for an overall funny episode that I think was worth watching despite the gratuitous fan-service. Also, while I know Hato-nee is the most… well rounded character in the show, I find it a little overwhelming how even female characters besides Miyu has boobs as big as hers, despite the emphasis in the first episodes? Maybe it’s the swimsuit effect, I have no idea.

7.5/10
