FAIRY TAIL 80

Nothing much happened in this chapter but we did get more background information from Erza on the Tower and Jeral. I have to say though, Erza and the other people there really carried a lot of beatings during their time in that place. Though, it really takes a certain kind of low-life to abuse children that way if you ask me. I think they all got what they deserved in the end but it seems as if it was too late for Jeral. Still, it isn’t clear as to why he turned out evil. Sure he got a beating of a lifetime but is that really enough to change someone into an “evil” bastard? Hopefully Erza clears up the situation in the next chapter.

[ Episode 13: ...your tears ]
![]()
I’d like to announce that this is our 1000th entry! I almost didn’t realize until a few days ago but it feels good to have so many posts.
Hmm, let’s see…where to start there. This episode was a rather good conclusion to a great series. From day one I was caught up into the world and characters true tears presented to me. In almost no time I had identified my favorite characters and not-so-favorite characters but there wasn’t anyone I disliked. That said, what happened in this episode wasn’t surprising by a long shot. The twists were over and the time had come for closure on all the relationships present. Some would argue that Shin ending up with Hiromi is consistent with the series overall theme. That is, overcoming obstacles and growing from the lessons learned during those hard times. Hiromi in particular drove this theme through the entire story and her persistence or “flying” brought her through the worst of it all, rewarding her with safely securing Shin’s heart as her own. Noe also adopted this theme in the very end which enabled her to be able to move forward with her life. Shin was inspired by her and he in turn re-inspired her. No one is left with bitter feelings and even Ai and Nobuse are doing well.
Overall, this episode couldn’t have been done any better. Well, I suppose that depends on whether or not you’re a Hiromi or Noe fan. Though no matter the outcome, both camps should be able to agree that the writing and character development was excellently done from beginning to end and that nothing was thrown in at the last minute that didn’t make sense.

[ Episode 12: From My Eyes Which Have Seen Nothing ]
![]()
OW. Was I the only one who winced when Noe hit the ground at the end of the episode? The sound effect was so perfectly done and really made me say “Ow.” after hearing it. Obviously, Noe was trying to see if she can fly and, well, I guess she knows now that she can’t LITERALLY fly. That and she’s likely to have a broken leg. Well, she’ll be okay since Shin is there to help her.
Interestingly enough, we had two cases of ‘true tears’ in this episode. The first was from Hiromi when she told Noe to leave her and Shin alone and the second incident from Jun when he revealed to Noe that he had loved her just a little more than a sister and realised that he can never act upon those feelings. Well, that brings closure to Jun’s issues.

Monty Oum is definitely one talented fellow. The only other notable work I’ve seen is Haloid, which was nifty stuff. What better than Samus Aran and Master Chief… er Chick? Now when you watch DF, this is a-whole-nother level. To put it simply in a few words: made of Awesome and Win. Basically you have Squeenix’s FF girls vs. the hot female fighters from Tecmo/Team Ninja. Quite stunning work there. Definitely need to go watch this now, people. Hit the jump for the epic second part!

Funny how I got into this. Actually, I wasn’t aware or forgot that the entry Leon made was Doubt too, also funny (Good thing I didn’t read it yet). It was by chance I decided to go through my bookmarks. One of them being an image board with this image posted. I thought the character designs were remarkable (I actually saw some of his Higurashi illustrations before) so I wanted to see what the manga was about. Little did I know after looking this us, it wasn’t what I expected… Read more

[ Episode 11: I'm Not the Person You Like ]

This episode did a wonderful job of conveying Shin’s conflicting feelings. Despite what happened in the last episode it is still not clear who truly is the one in Shin’s heart: Noe or Hiromi. He had a lot of thoughts of Noe during most of this episode, even while he was with Hiromi near the beginning. At this point I’m not sure I can even guess which one of them is his true love. In regards to how he feels toward Noe, perhaps it’s that ‘you never know how much you loved her until she’s gone’ situation? Or something like that.
It’s great to see that Aiko and Nobuse are still friends though. I’m sure that something will work out between the two in the future if they’re patient and careful.
Another thing I’d like to mention is the use of music in this episode. That piano piece that played during the kiss scene was well-placed and did wonders for my ears. I particularly liked the song that was playing during the very last moments of the episode when Shin finally found Noe. I’m hoping that they do even better with the last two episodes since I’m sure some powerful scenes will be in them.

[ Episode 13: Wolf and New Journey ]
![]()
Not surprisingly, everything went rather well over the course of this episode. There was no wolf battle because Horo chose a more mature option (that is, prostrating herself) that diverted away from having to kill a ton of wolves and possibly receive injuries herself. Lawrence managed to escape his bindings and meet up with Horo who then transformed into her wolf form to hurry to Nora’s aid. I really loved the scenes that followed because it was the first time we get to see wolf-Horo in an open environment and witness her speed and agility. Not to mention she laid waste to all of those goons that were working for the Remerio Company. For the remainder of the episode Lawrence manages to strike a deal with Remerio that would have him receive 500 Rumione over a period of 10 years. I hope interest builds up over that time as well!

SPOILERS ARE DEAD AHEAD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Wow. Just wow. Bleach shocked the hell out of me earlier this week when I heard that the flashback chapters were starting and on top of that the Vaizards were once apart of the Gotei 13. Seeing Shinji as captain of the 5th Division was awesome and hilarious at the same time because he was once sporting extremely long hair! Not only that, his lieutenant was Aizen! Oh man, he looked so noobish back then. Lisa was the lieutenant of the 8th Division, Hiyori seemed to be the lieutenant of the 13th Division, and Love as well as Rose were Captains as well.

Well now. THAT was probably the best episode of the series so far, managing to surpass episode six a little even if Horo didn’t transform and go on a rampage. Horo is currently surrounded by a ton of wolves including that huge one we’ve seen in the OP sequence. Meanwhile Lawrence gets screwed over by three mean from the Remerio Company and is tied up and left for dead. They’re apparently going to take care of Nora next but are pretty scared of her because they think she uses pagan magic. I don’t know how Lawrence plans to get himself out of this mess but it looks like he’ll have to on his own since Horo is busy.
It also becomes more clear at this point that a sequel should be expected some time in the future since Horo and Lawrence don’t seem to be anywhere near the end of their journey. For now though, I hope the conclusion of the first season ends on a great note.
