Ghost Hound ep. 13

[ Focus 13: For the Snark was a Boojum, you see. ]

Well that was a rather unique episode. At least three-quarters of it was spent following Tarou in his OBE exploration. He goes from checking up on Miyako, to his memories of his sister, to a hospital where dead people live for eternity, to an abstract place where he meets a ghost named Snark and back to his home where he goes into a room he’s normally forbidden to enter. I just love the creativity that is bursting from this series. The places in Tarou’s mind were just awesome and the look gave off dream vibes. Speaking of which, I’m not at all sure who Snark is yet and what the hell a Boojum is either. Snark tells Tarou that his physical body is still alive so he might be someone we already know or a new character all-together. For some reason I was thinking it was Hirata because of the hair on his head but it’s just a wild guess really.

Ghost Hound ep. 12

[ Focus 12: Homeostasis Synchronization ]

Miyako going god/goddess mode in front of Tarou was pretty surprising. Sure they were talking about possession prior to it but I didn’t expect one to happen right then and there. Still, I find it intriguing how the god identified itself right off the bat. What I don’t quite understand was what it was trying to say and why it chose to use Miyako’s body to go into the river and apparently drown her. Tarou wasn’t too freaked out but I guess that’s only natural given his exposure to such things already. While I’m on the topic of those two, I really find them to be rather cute together and wouldn’t mind seeing them becoming a couple. They’re already on a first name basis and Makoto has helped her out more than enough times when she was in trouble. It’s obvious that he likes her and Miyako, well at least one side of her, appears to like him so everything should work out. :P

Dragonaut ep. 18

[ Episode 18: Tranquility -Fleeting Days- ]

A year can change a lot of things, ya? Toa’s got a job and Jin is kissing her up as she should be. Gio is a stay-at-home dad. Sieglinde is even more of a spoiled brat, though that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Liner, Howling Star, and Amadeus are now in the custody of the ISDA who are now determined to exterminate all dragons. I’m sure Sakaki is kicking himself in the ass since that means he’ll have to do away with Laura who, despite how he treats her, is like a second daughter to him. I’m quite interested in seeing what Thanatos will do though. It also seems that Jin is still in the dark about Toa’s stigmata. It’s getting worse which means her life’s end is approaching closer. Will she really die? I’m having my doubts but given what Gonzo has done already…

Dragonaut ep. 17

[ Episode 17: Howl -When the Morning Star Burns- ]

That was a rather exciting episode. Gio seems to have awakened some new kind of power that I can only refer to as “super dragon” at the moment. It seemed to happen when he was blasted by Garnet/Asim and in turn unleashed some terrifying power that frightened Asim’s pawns and killed both Garnet and Asim. As for Machina and Akira, I just feel like they were used to show what happens to a dragon when their master dies and that just seems empty to me. Still though, at least they were given a final farewell of sorts by showing them both encased in ice after the ED sequence.

Kou not being just a reporter caught me off guard. I don’t have a clue as to what organization he’s with but I suppose that’ll come later. The jackass aka Kazuki is still alive which I find high disappointing since three characters who were far better than him died in the these past two episodes. Don’t get me started on the retarded eyepatch on his forehead. Just seeing Widow causes me to face-palm over and over because she’s the only responsible for saving the douche. ~_~

Dragonaut ep. 16

[ Episode 16: Cry -A Torn-up Fate- ]

Wow. Gonzo. You guys (and girls) are some rather cruel bastards. I mean, what the hell? How many twists were in this episode? Toa’s going to die soon? Akira is dead? Machina has goon berserker? Well, Garnet being a dragon really isn’t a surprise since I had my suspicions about her long ago especially with her earlier fights with Gio. But still, what kind of crack was used while writing this episode?! Seriously, why did she have to die? It seemed to just come out of no where and while death can be like that this one just didn’t add up. Should I even mention that despite blood spouting after she got slashed there was nothing on her suit or mouth? Bah, anyway, thinking of all that doesn’t matter at this point. Now that Machina has gone berserker I’m guessing that means she too will die. I guess it only makes sense since her most loved one just died in front of her.

Dragonaut ep. 15

[ Episode 15: Embrace -Those Who Beckon Each Other- ]

I took a break from Dragonaut for whatever reason but I’m back on track and determined to catch up! So first thing’s first, I loved it when Jin punched the hell out of Asim. That felt so good! Smug looks like his deserve nothing less than a jaw-rattling blow though I find it strange how it he didn’t seem to bleed from the punch. Lame. I’m not sure about the whole power of love thing but that one thing really stood out and made up for the ass-kicking Jin was receiving from some of those huge-breasted palace guards. I don’t know what happened to Asim as a kid but he grew up to be pretty touched in the head. Though I guess given Garnet’s affections, even people like him has a person who loves him. I guess I’ll see why in the next episode.

Shakugan no Shana Second ep. 18

[ Episode 18: Baffled Yuji ]

Oh man I’m just loving the stuff that’s happening right now. Yuji’s growth and new problems add a layer of depth that wasn’t present in the earlier episodes. Of course with this awesome character development comes a few bumps (for him). Like Margery stated he seems to be possessed by something. Given the mysterious nature of his existence I’d say that statement carries a lot of weight when you think about all that he has within him and beyond. Still, he seems to be trying to force himself to believe things he doesn’t think are true such as wanting to leave the city with Shana and leaving his mother and friends behind. That kind of stuff isn’t so easy to just discard despite his situation. I’m looking forward to seeing how his feelings toward that and himself develop from here.

Bleach ep. 161

[ BLEACH #161]

I’m going to get the point of this episode first. Ichigo made it clear who takes priority in his mind and heart, I think, when he attacked Ulquiorra. He initially was going to save Rukia (again) but just one sentence from Ulquiorra about kidnapping Orihime caused him to forget about that and immediately strike at him. He’s seriously pissed and it’s all understandable really given that Ulquiorra’s actions tarnished Orihime’s name and got her labeled as a traitor. I guess being a shounen series Ichigo’s decision may or may not be important relationship-wise, but hey I gotta think and talk about something other than fighting some times.

Anyway, as for the other highlights in this episode we got our first real glimpse at Stark and his assistant. I never really understood the relevance of the scene with him especially when his assistant asks him if he’s okay with Aaroniero dying. Is he more emotionally open than the other Espada or something? It’s hard to tell at this point especially since the manga hasn’t really touched on it since then either.

Next week is more Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra!

Shigofumi ep. 5

[ Episode 5: I'm Home ]

This was a nice change to the previous episodes that dealt with serious cases. Just like I thought in the previous episode, Fumika and Chiaki get to work together! Though the delivery is really odd since the recipient is a cat and, well, cats can’t exactly talk or read so that makes things extremely difficult. They had to chase the cat all over the city while encountering some scouts (guys who scout girls to be hostesses or otherwise though my definition might not be exactly accurate), Fumika kicking their asses, and Fumika revealing her extremely cute side and the fact that she’s scared of cats. Her facial expressions were to die for! ^__^

true tears ep. 7

[ Episode 7: Say It Clearly, Write it Down Here ]

OMG. Confessions galore! Noe now knows that she likes Shin. Shin knows now that he likes Noe. Probably the biggest bomb was Aiko making it known to Shin that she likes him. How does she do it? By kissing the hell out of him of course! What will happen now? Will Nobuse find out and beat up Shin? How much deeper in love is Noe going to have for Shin? Where does Hiromi fit in all this? And Jun for that matter? Who knows! :P

Just like last week let’s start from the top: Ah~. Shin should know better than to reject a girl’s offering of food. That’s just being stupid. He should starve for being that way. The confrontation between Noe and Hiromi had me on the edge. I thought someone was going to fall down after they when into mercy and pushing mode! Somewhere in my mind though I think I was shouting “Noe! Noe! Go! Go! Go!”. Anyway, that’s enough of the favoritism. For now. Or is it? ^^
