Kimi Aru ~They Are My Noble Masters~ - ep. 3

[ Episode 3: Universe ]

It’s like Capture the Flag, only with boobs.

The second episode of Kimi Aru wasn’t exactly my cup of tea because so many unrelated stuff happened and it wasn’t as cohesive as the first episode. Episode 3, thankfully, is not only better than the second episode, but I slightly liked it more than the first.

After passing all the rudimentary intro to the episode which involves Ren peeping on Benisu, Colonel driving like Ikki from Initial D and Shinra teasing Ren… AGAIN, we are treated to the actual premise of the episode. Miyu is tired of her older sister peeking on her so they decide to end the endless sister quarrel with the traditional Kuonji Flags game. If you ever played Counter Strike, Halo or any other shooter for that matter, then you know the rules: One team has to capture that other team\s’ flag\s and retrieve them to their base, thus granting them a victory. What’s funny is the fact that Shinra and Miyu are not the only ones in the mix, but Yume is also part of the game. Who’ll win the game? I won’t spoil it but it’s interesting to say the least.

Now you can me a sucker for sports, but I have admit I enjoyed the match between the three sisters and those who are involved in the whole mess. It was exciting to see Benisu and Hato-nee facing each other, since the two are so distinctive in their personality, and as shown in this episode, their fighting style as well. What’s nice about the episode is despite that Ren is my favorite character, he is not entirely the center of attention, and thankfully all the other character got equal screen time (maybe not Chiharu). This episode is by no means serious, it’s the comedy that takes the spotlight, but it’s by no means a bad thing.

8.5/10

Oh! A quick side note. I like the OP and ED of the show, especially the ED since in the full version Yuko Goto sounds like she’s yelling her soul in the last chorus to death, which is kind of funny to me. But from this episode the animation is more impressive. The OP doesn’t use old footage from episode 1, but new footage that showcase all the characters. The ending wasn’t as bad beforehand, but now it’s going to be either awesome for some or offensive for others. It involves the male characters driving in a tiny car reminiscent of the GetBackers’ one and they use long brooms to undress the female characters one by one. If this isn’t ecchi, I don’t know what is.
