Shakugan no Shana Second ep. 18

[ Episode 18: Baffled Yuji ]

Oh man I’m just loving the stuff that’s happening right now. Yuji’s growth and new problems add a layer of depth that wasn’t present in the earlier episodes. Of course with this awesome character development comes a few bumps (for him). Like Margery stated he seems to be possessed by something. Given the mysterious nature of his existence I’d say that statement carries a lot of weight when you think about all that he has within him and beyond. Still, he seems to be trying to force himself to believe things he doesn’t think are true such as wanting to leave the city with Shana and leaving his mother and friends behind. That kind of stuff isn’t so easy to just discard despite his situation. I’m looking forward to seeing how his feelings toward that and himself develop from here.
As for Zarovee and Bifrons, I don’t know what to think of those guys just yet. They’re rather unique Tomogara and by the looks of things Zarovee controls all of the bodies in his party aside from his main one. Well, it’s either that or I’ve been subconsciously thinking of a certain manga when looking at his character. Whatever the case I’m looking forward to seeing Yuji kick their asses with his newly acquired Blutsauger and unrestricted spells (well, he only has the fireball for now).

Sakai Yuji The Pretender? He can be whatever he wants to be!
I would respond with “What? lol” but somehow I know the answer I’ll receive wouldn’t make any sense to me.
I guess you never saw The Pretender, which aired on NBC during the late 90s? A super genius who faked his ID and took up odd jobs (one week he’s a plastic surgeon, the next he’s a truck driver), while dispensing ironic justice and forcing confessions out of people who did wrong. Pretty cool show that kind of lost it’s way toward the end of it’s production run (it got very dark and weird).
I’ve seen The Pretender but I don’t see the connection here…lol.
