Gundam 00 ep. 13

[ Episode 13: Return of the Saint ]

I really liked this episode! Part of the reason was that Setsuna has more exposure and development that in previous episodes. I enjoyed the scenes where he met up with Graham and the other guy, I though his acting was pretty good. Only Graham wasn’t convinced that he was just a civilian. Also, I wonder if he meant to help Setsuna out by mentioning that the Enact was around the area? There’s just no way he’d really accidentally let important information like that just be “the slip of the tongue”. Another other notes, I was quite surprised that someone actually made it so far as Marina’s room to try and kill her but I suppose that they wouldn’t have the best security compared to other nations. Well, at least the guards were lightning fast at responding to the threat.

The latter half that took place which Setsuna proceeding towards the palace unarmed was just so damn intense that I was sitting on the edge of my chair. I’m pretty sure putting up with being shot at took a lot of willpower but it payed off in the end as they managed to show the world their resolve. I liked the Setsuna/Marina interaction as well and I hope that they are able to meet on more private terms soon. Still though, Marina was taking a big risk at shouting out Setsuna’s name like that. Who knows who could have heard or been recording her.

Ghost Hound ep. 11

[ Focus 11: Syntax Error ]

There were so many things that happened in this episode that I barely know where to start. The execution of this episode was just brilliant. We get quite a few answers but even more questions in return.

Miyako’s father reveals to the guys a story about himself, the mayor, and Makoto’s father and mother, Sanae. Just like Taro, Makoto, and Masayuki they too went to visit the old hospital when they were younger to investigate a so-called cursed room. They manage to find an entrance that’s meant to store bodies of the dead and Makoto’s father climbs through it while Miyako’s father and the mayor, too frightened, flee outside with Sanae. The next time we see Makoto’s father is when he is standing outside and is staring into the sky. I have no clue as to what happened to him but I can only guess that saw something while crawling through that duct. Still though, none of that really answers the question as to why he would commit suicide years later. Could it have been as a result of whatever he experienced while crawling through that duct?

Gundam 00 ep. 12

[ Episode 12: At Doctrine's End... ]

Ah yes, it’s about time there was (another?) Setsuna-centric episode. Even more so it takes place in his home country where the lovely Marina is also residing. Which of course raises the chances of them meeting than if they were any where else on Earth (or in space lol). Anyway, this episode reminded me about just how ridiculous religious differences can be when they lead to war. There’s nothing that really can be done about them except hope that those involved don’t remain as total idiots. Though, as shown in this episode that kind of reality is too optimistic. Marina was pretty much disturbed with the whole coup de ‘trait going down so suddenly and can’t help but waver in her thoughts. Shiri, like her or not, is there to make sure she doesn’t fall into despair though which brings some comfort.

Gundam 00 ep. 11

[ Episode 11: Allelujah ]

I find myself enjoying Gundam 00 with each and every passing episode. This one was no different and it focused one of the more interesting Gundam Meisters: Allelujah. If there’s one thing that this episode shows is that everyone has to face their pasts at some point in their lives. It just so happened that Allelujah’s time came and when it all boiled down he had no other choice but to wipe out that super soldier facility. I can only imagine how hard it is to do something like that. That is, erasing the lives of those like yourself who were being tortured for the purpose of modification and eventually having a purpose to solely stand on the battlefield for the rest of their lives. Allelujah/Hallelujah and Soma are two exceptions to that last been though and thankfully so. Still, I wonder just what kind of effect will his actions live upon him. Though I guess I’ll just have to wait and see where he goes from here.

Hayate no Gotoku! ep. 30-35

[ Episode 30: Beautiful Young Lady Saw Great Detective! Case of Murdered Teacher ]

Insanity was what this episode was about. Nagi apparently wrote the script for this and boy was it horrible (in a funny way). I could only laugh at the ridiculous deductions, the fanservice shots and Yukiji waking up from playing dead. The butler battle was hilarious as well. I may be wrong but that was a parody of Beyblade, wasn’t it? Or was it Duel Masters? I can’t really remember but I did find it funny how they blocked out parts of Hayate’s and the other butler’s hands when they were shooting.

[ Episode 31: Do You Like Rich, Pretty Ladies? ]

This was an okay episode. I didn’t particularly like any part of it except for maybe the very end with the two boys and their gold suits. For some reason that just cracked me up along with their stupid comedy act. The Sakuya/Hayate interaction was good as well and you just gotta love the way she uses that fan of hers. ^_^

H2O ~FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND~ ep. 3

[ Episode 3: Hinata ]

Okay, let me get this straight. Apparently, I should be able to tell the nature of a person based on if the food they cooked for me tastes like my mother’s. I think if I used that as a basis to evaluate others I’d be in a pretty messed up position. Either that or Takuma made that up on the spot so that he didn’t have to tolerate with Hinata’s “you don’t know me” speech. At least I hope so because I found that sentence to be rather stupid.

Dragonaut ep. 14

[ Episode 14: Companions - A Changing Future - ]

Not much happened in this episode aside from showing us Liner’s connection with Jin’s father and why he became a Dragonaut in addition to Akira and Machina deciding to support Jin instead of going off to Thanatos with the others. At the very end though it seems like a new dragon is about to emerge from Thanatos. I’m just going to guess that this one is going to be even stronger than the last. And, LOL! I laughed my ass off at Kazuki getting the hell owned out of him. Seeing as he is still in jackass mode and at a ridiculous level at that it would have been good if he died for good but if the new ED is any indication he will survive along with Widow (not that I wanted her to die though). I’m guessing he’ll return with an X-shaped scar like, uh, Scar from FMA and probably do something “redeeming”. Bleh.

Speaking of the new ED it sounds great and it’s a nice change from the slower-paced one before it. The portrayal of Machina and Garnet’s breasts are hilarious though. :D

D.C. ~Da Capo~ Review - 59/100

Series Information

ANN Encyclopedia | AniDB | AnimeNfo
Episode Total: 26
Producers: CIRCUS, Ganges, ZEXCS, Lantis, feel.
Genres: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Supernatural
D.C. ~Da Capo~
[Review: 59/100]

When you hear about a show that’s based on a Japanese dating sim, you are bound to think it’s all about the pretty girls, or guys, you converse with. Da Capo is one of those anime that are based on such thing. It has the same premise of any other anime of its type; have a moderately normal and somewhat popular guy put in an environment of beautiful girls and just see how things go from there. Although some of the scenarios are less than common, I just can’t help but notice how bland it is.

Spice and Wolf ep. 2

[ Episode 2: Wolf and Distant Past ]

This second episode, I thought, was even better than the first episode. Spice and Wolf is the type of show that while it is slow it is quite entertaining through the dialogue and character relationships. That holds especially true for Horo and Lawrence. Whether it’s the anime or the manga I never get bored with their discussions. Horo especially makes things interesting with her joyful presence. It’s always a treat to to see her in her Horo the Wise-mode or her playful mode. ^__^

NARUTO: Shippuuden ep. 43

[ Episode 43: Sakura's Tears ]

Hmm. I didn’t really feel any stretching or stalling this week like usual. I guess there was some but I just didn’t pick up any of it for some reason. Anyway, as for the episode itself, I felt that Sakura’s feelings were conveyed nicely. ‘Sakura’s Tears’ is an appropriate title not just because she cried but also because she realized that Naruto pushed himself beyond human limits just so that he can keep his promise to her. If she didn’t know how much he cared for her back when he first came back injured from trying to save Sasuke I’m more than sure the message came across quite clear in this episode.
