Hakaba Kitaro

Episode 1: [Kitaro is Born]

Hakaba Kitaro is definitely one of the most trippy shows I had the honor of watching. Coming to the show, with no previous experience with the Kitaro shows that proceeded it, I was surprised by not only the quality of the art and animation, but the flow of the story a well.

Shakugan no Shana Second ep. 12

[ Episode 12: Fall Festival Clearly Begins ]

Ah~. I loved this episode mainly because of Pheles’ entrance. Everything else takes the back seat to that, I think. For some reason when she should up I thought “Ha ha. How convenient she interrupts Shana’s confession. Get that stuff out of here!” lol. I was a bit surprised to see Margery grab Wilhelmina the way she did when she first approached her though I’m sure it was because she mentioned the Silver to her. Well, at least they managed to calm down a little and eat a little together. Though, given the preview for the next episode that isn’t going to last too long when Margery sees the Silver flame used by Yuji. :P

true tears ep. 3

[ Episode 3: That Conversation You Had, How Did It Turn Out? ]

I really love this show. At this point this is leagues more enjoyable and well-written than H2O. The characters are overall more likable and believable. With this third episode this show has established itself as among the top best of the winter season. Seriously, true tears has it all in place so that it will grab your attention. The characters are all interesting and, at least for me, I haven’t found any of them annoying as of yet. There’s quite a bit going on in the story as well so early. There’s the conflict between Shinichiro and his mother about Hiromi, Noe obviously having an attachment to Shinichiro, Ai’s apparent feelings for Shinichiro, and Hiromi’s (apparent) lie about not liking Shinichiro but Noe’s brother and then running into him at the end of the episode. I thought that last scene was executed perfectly with the animation and soundtrack both still in full force since the first episode. I really want to see what happens next especially given that the preview suggests that some rather interesting stuff will be happening.

Spice and Wolf ep. 3

[ Episode 3: Wolf and Business Sense ]

Looking at this episode I think Horo would make an awesome accountant. Her business sense is keen though that’s to be expected from all of her years. Still, I found it amazing how Horo was able to sell those pelts at 210 silvers compared to Lawrence’s 140 pieces. Given that most of what she said was total BS I think many a person would fall for her trickery because it was just that convincing. It’s pretty funny and amazing that she seemed to have planned the whole thing out or at least thought about it after she bought those apples when they first entered Pattsio.

Rosario + Vampire ep. 3

[ Episode 3: Witch and Vampire ]

Ah yes, Yukari. To be honest she’s not a favorite of mine even if she is a cute loli. I just find the other girls much more likable. That’s not to say that I don’t like her though even if she did come across as annoying in her debut. Anyway, I had some good laughs from this episode. I couldn’t believe the entire soap opera segment about loneliness talking place during the fight. I was rolling, especially after those lizard goons mentioned it. On another note, Tsukune must have a lot of blood. He lost a ton of it during this episode and that just made me laugh for some reason. That reminds me, I’m going to have to look back at the manga at some things I don’t remember being present such as Tsukune pulling down Kurumu’s panties. I swear, if those two were to be left alone without any interruptions they’d eventually end up naked and doing some interesting things. Well, that is if Tsukune wasn’t, like Yukari said earlier in the episode, ‘a half-assed male’.

Oh yes, and this weeks’ fight lasted for 59 seconds. Will there be a shorter time soon?! :P

NARUTO: Shippuuden ep. 44

[ Episode 44: The Truth About the Fight ]

When I look back at this episode I don’t really have much to say. It was a pretty normal episode content-wise. There was barely any action and just enough plot progression to advance the story. So Sai is a traitor, eh? Well, I’m sure that didn’t surprise most given that his background was questionable from the beginning since he was a subordinate of Danzou. I have to admit though that I’m up-to-date with the manga and have yet to care about Danzou and his plans. He looks like a useless old man to me but I guess he has something up his sleeves that doesn’t make him look as powerless as he does.

Bleach ep. 157

[ BLEACH #157]

These fights talking place right now aren’t exactly among my favorites. The only good thing about the Cirucci vs. Uryuu fight was Cirucci herself. I like her attitude and her design. So it’s a damn pity that she had to lose and (seemingly) get picked off from the Exequias. I just thought about something in the current manga chapters regarding her but I obviously can’t mention it in this post. I didn’t find the fight with Chad and Mosqueda that interesting even back in the manga. Maybe it’s because for Chad almost all of fights end with him being half-dead. Though really that might be because he’s (supposedly) the only “normal” human in the group and that he’s more susceptible to injuries.

Anyway, I’m really wondering right now just how far they’re going to take the manga material since we’re getting really close to the current chapters. There doesn’t seem to be an anime original arc in sight yet either.

D.C.S.S. ~Da Capo Second Season~ Review - 60/100

D.C.S.S. ~Da Capo Second Season~
[Review: 60/100]

After finishing the moderately decent first season of Da Capo, I wasn’t expecting much from the second season. Maybe a fresh new coat of animation and a few ongoing storylines that overlap each other will help this one be different than the stereotypical first season. It got the same music and art you know and love from the show, but one main addition, the character Aisia, ruined for this season for many. Ironically, it wasn’t exactly a disaster for me.

Gundam 00 ep. 15

[ Episode 15: Broken Wings ]

Holy shit! This is the best episode of the series yet! Tons of action that constantly pumped excitement through my veins. Even though the entire engagement was beyond unfair I have to say that it was well planned. Using hundreds upon hundreds of mobile suits to bombard he Gundams and keep them from fleeing would no doubt cause the pilots tremendous amounts of stress and exhaustion. Fifteen hours isn’t easy to survive and performance will suffer immensely. Lockon was one of the easiest to see because he comment on how numb his fingers/tips were getting after having to shoot for so long. Setsuna was pretty tired as well and was pretty sluggish when he went up against Ali at the end of the episode. Luckily, he was saved by a brand new Gundam that destroyed Ali’s extra armor. Somehow I don’t think this is going to sit well with Setsuna’s mental state regarding him ‘becoming a Gundam’.

Gundam 00 ep. 14

[ Episode 14: Dawn of Determination ]

So a huge war is about to start in the guise of an “exercise”. Only the public and a fool would believe the latter. Like it was said in the episode, moving troops and especially mobile suits costs a ton of money and they’re only spending that money for one thing: for a chance to capture a Gundam. I’m pretty sure that this means that the Gundam Meisters are going to be in trouble. Sure they have very advanced mobile suits but constant fire and seemingly endless enemies coming at them will even take a toll on the Gundams if it lasts long enough.

As for the characters I had various thoughts during the episode. Regarding Saji and Louise, I’m wondering when their importance will come to light. Aside from giving us a civilian viewpoint of the events taking place in the world and providing some comic relief they really haven’t done anything noteworthy as yet. Sumeragi yet again intrigues me and again she makes me interested in where her character development is heading. Oh, and I can’t not mention that wonderful fanservice shot of her coming out of the shower. :P
