PERSONA ~trinity soul~ ep. 3

[ Episode 3: Outsiders ]

Yosh! Now this is what I’m talking about. Easily the best episode yet, the action was pretty damn good. Man, I new Ryou’s Persona was strong but the power it displayed really went beyond my expectations. I was expecting Touma to last a bit longer than he did but he was pounded into the ground without so much as a chance to catch a breath. Well, that’s what he gets for calling out the chief of police. :P Shin’s fight with Saki and Soutarou’s Personae was a little more low-key since Shin still doesn’t know what he’s doing and the Persona acts on its own to protect him. What happened after the fight though was pretty damn weird, but it seems like Soutarou now has his Persona and Saki’s Persona both infused inside him which resulted in a massive fit episode. Weird.

Still nothing on Jun but I suppose that’ll change next episode. Eiko was a refreshing touch to the episode as well and I enjoyed seeing her interact with Shin and Jun. We are told the name of the group Saki, Touma, and the others are from as well. Though, I’d really like to know more about Saki and the others (well Touma’s dead so…) and what significance they will have in future episodes.

Lastly, that red-haired girl showed up again and her presence is as mysterious as ever. Who is she? Why is she following Ryou and now it seems like she’s watching over Shin as well. Hopefully her character will be expanded on a bit more in the next few episodes.

I thought the Persona combine was kinda odd, but it must have worked before in the past. Perhaps they will explain under what circumstances Persona can gattai without experiencing severe heartburn.

Hmm..why are the personas look semi-transparent..
    It kind of bothers me..

I think episode two’s cliffhanger made me appreciate it more than this one. And the Persona battles are still hard to follow. Can the fight at any time other than night?

I agree that the low opacity of the personas do not mix well with the night-time battles. It’s really hard to figure out what’s going on! Maybe when they power up, they will be easier to see.

We might see a day battle sooner or later though as it is night-time is the best time for them to fight since not many people are around and it’s easier to run and hide.

    That’s a good rational.

Would you say the reason why things are happening is because of ambition or greed?

It’s hard to say really. Ryou’s intentions are unclear though they seem good enough at the moment and as of this episode (I’ll have ep 4 out tonight hopefully) we haven’t seen the leader of the Outsider’s yet nor know of why he/she is doing what they are doing the Special As.
